It bugs me too when my pants get too big for me through the waist. ;)

Yeah, loosing weight sucks big-time! Pass me that ice cream tub will ya'... :rommie:

Well, OK, but it's empty.

I bought a smoker box for my gas grill and a bag of mesquite wood chips so that I can smoke meat using my gas grill.

I then bought a 4 pound beef brisket. After covering the brisket in a homemade dry rub and letting it sit in the fridge overnight, I added wood chips to the smoker box, put it on the grill, let the smoke build, and then put the brisket on the grill. About 5 hours later I had the best brisket I've had in a long time.

Today I received a book in the post. It is

Heaven: Our Enduring Fascination with the Afterlife by Lisa Miller.

I have read the introduction and the first chapter and so far it has been really interesting.

I bought a new straw hat.

I wish the crown wasn't quite so tall, and I took the lanyard off, but the brim is nice and wide--wider than my old hat.

I went on a drunken online shopping spree a few days ago and bought my kitty several toys that are coming piecemeal from Amazon. The tunnel came today and now he's craaaaaaazy. I'm scared.

I had a bunch of books arrive from Amazon today.

*Makes cash-register sound*

For work:

Boyd Hilton, A Mad, Bad, & Dangerous People? England 1783-1846
Don Garrett (ed), The Cambridge Companion to Spinoza
Steven Nadler, Spinoza: A Life

For fun:

Samuel R Delany, The Einstein Intersection
Samuel R Delany, Babel-17/Empire Star
Samuel R Delany, Nova

For both:

H G Wells, The Island of Dr Moreau

The book of the dead with original hieroglyphs and English translation - can't wait to get into that at bedtime.

A leather wristband with three strands in red and black - love wearing that type of thing in summer. Plus, I wanted a touch of red to go with the red laces on my boat shoes. All things red have begun to call out to me!

A rosycroix pendant - I just liked the design really, that it had some meaning was a bonus: http://www.sacredenchantments.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1600

I got a navy top from Coldwater Creek, a new bra from Soma, and picked up a big Subway sandwich for dinner.

Just finished ordering several Trek books. Also, groceries, a new hidey house for my guinea pig, a hammock for her, and Aspen litter for my gerbils' tanks.

I took advantage of the sales and got three GAP Henley-neck t-shirts, a GAP navy blue sweatshirt, and a pair of Timberland Earthkeepers.

I'm really glad I can shop from Timberland's Juniors section, the prices are quite literally cut in half, and thanks to the sales I ended up with a pair of incredibly comfortable canvas and leather boots for all of £29. :D

All seven of the Dark Tower books for my iPad

So what am I in for here? I've never read these books before. Are they cool? :)
