Recently, I've bought: new swimming costume, a pale dusky pink vest top, a pale grey cardi/shrug and handed over £200 to my mother as contribution towards the family holiday to Center Parcs we're going on in August (this is also why I bought a new swimming costume).

aww gee! That may be the nicest thing anyone has said to me in a while. :) Thank you!

It's true; I can be nice, if taken in small dosages.

I bought wine. Actually, did a bit of shopping on behalf of my dad who wanted a decent mixed case for drinking over the next 5 years (easily done, but nothing too special), and also a little advice on what to buy from the Bordeaux 2009 en primeur offers.

2009 is supposed to be fucking awesome, but the Chinese are really driving prices up now (eg Lafite at £4.25k for half a case from the Wine Society, Palmer at £1.175k, even Carruades was a ridiculous £500). Anyway, while these wines will probably appreciate further, my dad was more interested in stuff to actually drink in a decade or two's time rather than pure investments so I suggested a far more humble half-case of Clerc-Milon and another half-case of Haut-Batailley. Fingers crossed we get the allocation (I suspect there will be oversubscription this year)!

Im very tempted to apply for a half-case of Rauzan-Segla for myself; that is supposed to be something really special this year, and the price isn't too bad either (about £350). But that won't be ready for 20-30 years. Would be a very decent investment though. I'll think about that more. If Hugo Rune (or any other wino) is reading, I'd be interested in his thoughts.

Our trusty old Point and Shoot was groaning and grinding and clearly heading for the last roundup as I was getting ready to leave on vacation. I'd been researching replacements, and settled on this. When I got to Oregon, I happened to find one at a really good price at a local store, sooooooooo ....

Enjoying playing around with it so far. A few pic's posted in the "Moar Pic's" thread, if anyone's interested.

One note: I'm definitely still getting used to all the features, so some of the pic's may not be the best quite yet.

That's a pretty camera!

I bought some additional things since then, but they don't count. I bought a kitchen!

A complete and brand-new shiny kitchen! It will be delivered in 3 weeks' time and then we'll have some assembling to do. =)

I just bought a chocolate bar called "Spicy Maya" made by Chuao Chocolatiers. It's a sugar free dark chocolate bar with cayenne pepper and pasilla chile.

It's sweet when you bite into it, but once you chew and swallow it leaves a nice, warm feeling in your mouth, and a spicy zing at the back of your throat. It is delicious.

Okay this is not much but l will say it anyway.
1 postage stamp.
Do you know that postage stamps have gone up in price.
They are 60 cents now

It bugs me too when my pants get too big for me through the waist. ;)

Yeah, loosing weight sucks big-time! Pass me that ice cream tub will ya'... :rommie:

I live in fear of the day I acquire middle-aged spread, inevitable as it likely is. :(

Maybe if you stopped buying wine by the crate, you wouldn't have to think of any spreading at all... :p

I would personally prefer to work out a couple of hours a day rather than live with the scarring and what all else liposuction leaves... plus, there's nothing to stop it going straight back on within weeks!
