Bought some shirts for my sister's upcoming birthday. I also picked up a little hanging sign for my door on Halloween.

Chuck Taylors from an outlet store I didn't know existed until yesterday. Not that the shoes are hard to find where I live its the size of the shoe I require.

Also got my sister a b-day present, Red Dwarf V.

Muscle Milk...

Humour me; I'm feeling lazy to google.
It's a brand of protein powder.

Thanks!

Inspired by the "classic" threads in GenMedia, I just ordered The Philadelphia Story, Holiday and His Girl Friday. Looks like next weekend will be movie night! :D

I approve of your purchases. :techman:

I'd throw in High Society too, just because I enjoy watching it after TPS.

I knew there was more to love about you than just your snappy attire! ;)

I'll be making notes of Cary Grant's snappy attire though... :D

High Society is a lot of fun, esp. Who Wants to be a Millionaire, but it's all still pretty fresh in my memory, whereas I can hardly remember anything about those three, despite almost certainly seeing them at some point!

Also got my sister a b-day present, Red Dwarf V.

Probably my favourite season of that show. Quarantine is brilliant.

I pre-ordered The Prisoner on Blu-Ray yesterday, and bought tickets to see Cripsin Glover to present his film It Is Fine, Everything is Fine on Friday. Should be...interesting.

A tiny bottle of pewter colored paint... again something for my Halloween costume. I have my own little sweat shop going on here. :bolian:

Two things:

a) I can't wait to see your costume!! It's going to rock! :bolian:

b) Sweat shop, as in, you getting sweaty? ;)

Well it has been to cold here to be sweaty. And I am praying this costume will rock. It will look like the costume from the movie but I am praying I don't mess the shirt up.

As for my purchases for the day, I bought two big bags of candy, a box of popcorn and the ingredients to make my special pumpkin sandwich cookies. I make the cookies fresh and fill them with my own special cream cheese frosting. I hope I don't sound to arrogant when I say... they are yummy awesome. I am making them for a Halloween party I am going to this Saturday.

I pre-ordered a copy of Dragon Age: Origins for my XboX360, I chose the collector's edition of course. It'll be out on November 6th. Can't wait! :D

I had a bit of time after lunch and before teaching in the afternoon so hit the local shops with one of the girls from work.

First off, we hit a new chocolate shop in the area. Her idea, but what a good one! A real revelation - gorgeous hand-made Belgian chocolates; high quality stuff and not the kind I'd expect to find in that particular location. The kind of chocolates where you get an almighty cocoa rush as you bite into them and then a luscious swirl of flavours as the heat of your mouth melts the interior. Amazing stuff. We had a good chat with the owner, and had a deliciously snobby lament over the poor quality of most mass-market chocolate.

You can only really eat maybe two or three of these top-quality chocs in a single sitting - they're that potent - but that just means a box lasts longer. The owner offered to let us both sit in there all day the next time we were off work. The deal was that we could eat as many chocolates as we liked for free in return for helping out if the shop got busy - I'm very tempted to take him up on that offer!

After that, we popped by a wine shop and I restocked a little and gave my industrious co-shopper a crash-course on how to taste wines properly. I needed a few "drinking soon" moderately-priced reds and after tasting a half dozen or so wines, I picked up a couple of 1999 Givry's, a 2003 Haut-Medoc and a few Portuguese, Spanish and Languedoc more recent vintages. Nothing amazing but all decent drinking bottles that will go well with food.

Fun couple of hours!
