I dreamed last night that I bought new furniture for the living room. Does that count? (I am poor at the moment so I can't really afford much beyond food these days.)

Samosas, pakoras, chickpeas, brownies, cookies, and a tray of squares. I love the hospital bazaar. YUM!

Groceries, gasoline, Aspen litter for my critters, a new hidey house for one of my critters, and 54 pounds of hay for them. They (1 gerbil and 1 guinea pig) are really spoiled. :D

I bought a pair of Timberland boots for the winter, they are soooo warm and comfy, it's like walking on a cloud. I am very very happy with them. :D
Of course I wear them all laced up to the top, for added warmth. I am just that old. :shifty:

I think they look better that way anyway.

Inspired by the "classic" threads in GenMedia, I just ordered The Philadelphia Story, Holiday and His Girl Friday. Looks like next weekend will be movie night! :D

Good choice and a great investment as well. I bought a pair of all leather Timberline hiking boots when I was in my 20s and I still have them (and wear them in inclement weather) thirty years later. At this point I figure I'm going to have to give them to my son eventually since I don't think there's anyway for me to kill them.

A brand new comfortable pair of headphones for the computer. No more earlobe chafing. Plus there's a decent mic that works - now I can talk to people online instead of typing things. :bolian:

Muscle Milk, L-Argenine, and Melatonin.

I also bought a package at a tanning salon. I've never done that before, but my skin (especially on my back) is angry because I never went outside this summer.

Yep, they'd look a bit chavvy otherwise, me thinks. :shifty:

And as for your movies, I can tell you that The Philadelphia Story is not only one of my all-time favourites, but definitely one of the best comedies you will -ever- see.

Mallory, I am looking forward to the challenge these boots will provide, and if they do last 30 odd years, I'll be more than happy to wear them that long. The quality is unbelievable, especially in this age of things that are built to -not- last at all. :techman:

Seconded. Though Mr. Smith Goes to Washington isn't too bad either, even if a bit more sappy.

Upthread, I mentioned how my poor timing/ luck probably saved me money this week, including a mention of a Broncos jersey that I could get because the store shut down. Well, after sitting here for two days telling myself that I didn't need a Broncos jersey, I jump online today and blow a lot of money on a Champ Bailey jersey. So, I have no self-restraint with money, but I'll have a cool new jersey from it.

Muscle Milk...

Humour me; I'm feeling lazy to google.

Yep, exactly! Thanks for saying what I was thinking!

I could have sworn I'd seen all those movies at some point, but for the life of me I can't actually remember doing so, hence the purchases.

Now, Mr Smith Goes to Washington I DO remember seeing, and the sentimentality just got too much for me by the end.

I approve of your purchases. :techman:

I'd throw in High Society too, just because I enjoy watching it after TPS.

I knew there was more to love about you than just your snappy attire! ;)

Stocked up on the birthday presents this weekend. I got a sweater, 2 tops, a vest, 3 necklaces, some books and a rosary.

Today I picked up my wig for my Halloween costume, a wig cap, panty hoses for said costume and some cupcakes since the cupcake place is closed on Mondays ( ).

I bought a membership to the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators! I think it'll be quite valuable. They host workshops and conferences and a number of other opportunities for networking, some publishers who do not accept unsolicited submissions make an exception for SCBWI members, they offer awards and grants, and support with the legal aspects of publishing.
