A toaster (see Random Thoughts passim).

it's called "compact" (which appears to mean that it is 2-slot rather than 4) but is bigger all round than the old one. All the options were. It's uglier but again, all the options were. There are a couple of "functions" that I don't want but are the kind of thing that seems to get added so that increases in costs can be justified.

So far, it's managed to burn bread and soda bread which makes the "half way" point on the dial hotter than the old one.

Why is it so hard to get plain, basic, reliable electrical items?

Have you thought about using Zenni.com? I get my glasses from them every year and they've been great and MUCH cheaper than the eye doctor's office.

For some reason manufacturers seem to think that they need to make things as complicated as possible now.

This set was a bit of an early surprise in the mail today; I wasn't expecting it until the 10th at the earliest. I grew up on all these movies, and while some moments are admittedly less stellar than others, the pairing of Pat Morita and Ralph Macchio was genius. My copy's outer box was slightly banged up, but on the whole I'm still happy with it.

From Amazon:
High capacity Limeink Xerox compatible Yellow toner cartridge for my Workcenter 6515.
Expeditionary Force Book 17: Task Force Hammer by Craig Alanson (paperback)
Two pack of 100% cotton pocket T-shirts.

It's a pity that there is no Specsavers in the USA. For the last 10 years (at least) I have got my glasses from there. Can't remember how much they cost when I got the two pairs earlier in the year - but it was less $300 for a pair of glasses and sunglasses. Included was some tinting on my glasses.

I decided on buying a new wallet (which is pretty much like the old one - but falling apart) and Darrell Lea Rocky Road chocolate.

Last week I got Titan Comics' Doctor Who: The Third Doctor: Heralds of Destruction, and the Dark Crystal prequel novel Shadows of the Dark Crystal. The Third Doctor is one of my favorite classic Drs. and I'm a huge fan of The Dark Crystal, so I've been wanting to get these two for a while.

22 gallons of 20% Biodiesel (at least it was less expensive than unleaded gasoline).
Got a senior flu shot at Costco and a Covid 19 booster (paid by medicare and medigap coinsurance), while I was at Costco I also bought groceries.
