Flatliners 4K UHD

On a side note, when DVDs were new, I contemplating buying every new Sarah Michelle Gellar movie that came out because I liked her as an actress. Good thing I didn't, because that would've been like two good movies at the most.

A new 1TB SSD drive to replace the one that suddenly failed yesterday.

While my data files were backed up, still a major pain to reinstall and configure everything.

For a very long time, Mrs. Silvercrest and I have had our collection of many, many VHS tapes taking up space on the shelf. And the other shelf. And that shelf over there.

It's probably notable that even though we do have functional VCR machines to watch tapes, I haven't hooked them up in a number of years. This should tell you how relevant the tapes are to us anymore. I've replaced a tape with a DVD on occasion, but not very reliably. It just hasn't been a priority.

Finally, a few weeks ago, Mrs. Silvercrest started a movement to collect ALL the tapes, replace them with DVDs, and get rid of them. So, I'm scouring Amazon and eBay and getting some interesting results. We can't do it all at once, but we CAN get it done.

There are about 10% of these tapes that aren't available by any means, but I've got a plan for that.

I do recognize that DVD as a format is not far behind VHS in terms of obsoletion. But optical drives to watch them should still be available for a while.

I got a custom tee shirt made at the start of the year which I had printed "Do The Thing" on because at the time I loved the quote as used in The Legend Of Korra. The proper quote was "Do The Thing, Zhu Li" but you can't really print that with a long pause and make it effective so just printed the first part of the quote. Anyway surprisingly some people do get the quote when they see it. I've had one or two people say "Zhu Li" to me and it makes me laugh.

After a lot of indecision and pausing I relented and purchased a new chair for where my computer is. It's very comfy and looks neat. The old chair had gotten a bit worn and I kept procrastinating about buying a new one.

Bought a new pair of slippers. I bought a pair to wear around the house and it turned out to be the start of the pandemic and I shifted to working from home, so I wore them for a lot more hours per day than I was planning. They were my first pair of slippers too. Lasted almost 2.5 years before they became worn down with holes. How long are they normally supposed to last?
