Your latest purchases, cont.

The Twilight Zone: The Complete Series and Criterion Collection: Stalker (Soviet, 1979) both on Blu-ray. Plus the three TPB volumes of Star Trek: Boldly Go (IDW). All from Amazon.

A new pizza slicer; our old one came apart last weekend.

Ooh....did you get one of these? :D

Supplies for my indie film this weekend. Props, costumes, etc. And, not related to the film, paint for my bathroom. Nothing like having to do some home improvement while I'm prepping for a shoot.

And testing out some new gear!

Yesterday, hubby and I bought four new appliances: microwave, stove/oven, dishwasher and washing machine. So very pleased.

^Nice! When you're ready to buy en masse like that, you can get great deals. I was able to do that once, with an empty house: fridge, oven, cooktop, microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer in one swoop. When I'm ready to spend some money, I like to go into the store... looking not my best, the clothes I'd wear for dirty work. I don't want to give my money to sales people who blow you off if you don't look like a high roller. The young fellow who came right up to me to help that day, it made his week.

Unfortunately in the twenty years since, everything has worn out at much different rates!

Not really a "purchase," but I had to spend money on it.

Love that. :techman:

Here is some history, for anyone who might be interested:

http://chemungcountyhistoricalsocie...04/remington-typewriters-to-save-time-is.html

I graduated from Elmira College....Mark Twain's original octagon study is on the campus. He is buried in Elmira's Woodlawn Cemetery, beside his wife Olivia Langdon Clemens.

The funny thing in this region is that there was also Ingersoll-Rand....later Dresser-Rand....and when Remington Rand was still up and running, people meeting for the first time would be in the middle of chit-chat and ask each other where they worked and sometimes people from both companies would say "The Rand". Made for some funny confusion for a moment. Sperry Rand just added to the levels of explanation that were needed. If someone was an employee of The Rand Corporation? Well, good luck with that one.
