I’m sure native Chicagoans still call it Sears Tower, so I figured I’d do the same.
It’s like the Blue Jays’ stadium in Toronto. Nobody there calls it Rogers Centre, so why should I? Effectively it’s still SkyDome, despite the name on the outside.
I don't know what it's called now, but I call the tall glass building in downtown Minneapolis the IDS Tower.
I got that trait from my dad, who refused to call the local grocery store Kowalski's and continued to write his checks to Red Owl for years...until we moved from that neighborhood.

My Dad did that too, though not with the cheques. Our Local shop was a Co-op before I was born, then it became VGs, but by the time I was mobile enough to be sent for coal, it was a spar. To this day it is the Co-op, and occasionally VGs, and I’m in my forties.

Spent wayyyy too much money at the Cincinnati Gay Pride Parade, and lunch afterward. A couple of smallish flags for waving, a necklace my wife bought and an "Impeach Trump Now" button for my eleven year old son. He wanted the "Fuck Trump" button, but I exercised my parental veto power on that one.
A new pizza slicer; our old one came apart last weekend.
My sympathies. The demise of a trusty utensil is a sad time. My favourite spatula is showing it’s age; cooking just won’t be the same when I replace it.
