Your Girlfriend Was In A Porno Movie!

Well you never know if a woman (or a man) is telling the truth about their past sex lives, you have just have to assume/trust that they are. But a large-- relatively speaking-- number of partners in no way devalues a person.

So true. The last girl I dated withheld alot of info from me because she knew if she told me I wouldn't have dated her at all.

I also think there is a difference between a girl who did low budget amatuer porn to pay for school and a woman who is/was a porn star.

You know what, I apologize. I just realized that most of the people going on the offensive here have an understanding of sexuality that is probably limited to pornography. I'm done defending myself on this, lol. I'm not judging these people, I'm just saying I wouldn't be comfortable in the relationship. There should be nothing wrong with that answer.

Never apologize for having a viewpoint.

I didn't apologize for the viewpoint, I apologize for not considering that I was probably talking to high school students with limited sexual experience-- to whom the idea of being with a porn star, or really anybody at all, is still enamoring.

Ohh-- though I did enjoy the movie "The Girl Next Door." It's about a guy who ends up dating a porn star.

Ah ok...

To those who claim that appearing in pornography equals prostitution, I would submit this dissenting viewpoint:

Prostitution involves the act of one party paying money to another in exchange for their own sexual gratification. With pornography both parties are paid to display sexuality for the enjoyment and gratification of others. To my mind this is an important difference... but then again I see nothing inherently immoral about prostitution to begin with, so even if pornography did equal prostitution I wouldn't particularly care.

I agree with you up til what I underlined...I think prostitution should be regulated like in Nevada and some other places and legalized.

How is that a disagreement? I concur.

Oh, that's a mature response. You don't like the way people reacted so you just bad mouth them. Well done.

Now that's what you should apologize for. Your preferences are nobody's business but yours. Automatically assuming that someone who is much more casual about sex than you must be immature and/or inexperienced is just bigoted.

I'd just be worried that after all those extermely well hung male porn stars she wouldn't feel me and then how would I live up to their standards :)

I agree 100%. That was a very condescending thing to say, Danoz, and, if you know anything about the demographics of the board, largely untrue.

Or, perhaps, you might be talking to middle-aged people like myself who have far more life and sexual experience than you. Let's not take this down the road of getting personal. Remember, discuss the Post and not the Poster.

And let's everybody keep on Topic, please and thank you. :)

Finally someone who has the guts to say it. A very valid point.

Edit: I hope she wouldn't compare her boyfriend to a male porn star.

I'd have a problem with it, certainly.

The only question is whether or not I loved her enough to get past the problem.

I'd be more comfortable if it was in her past then if it was still going on, but there are other things I would mind more. That's of course assuming it's just regular porn, and regular tests and such where the norm as it is in the serious industry. If it was porn ivolving more extreme stuff I'd take pause. And no I'm not talking about threesomes.

The US Supreme Court ruled back in the 70's that pornography is NOT prostitution.

I think those who claim it is are comparing them on a moral basis rather than a legal basis. I personally don't see it as a moral issue at all but that's me.

Sure, but I like to make up my own mind on things.

I probably wouldn't have a problem with it. I dated a stripper once and I didn't have a problem with that, although that's a little different. The only way I'd have a problem with dating a porn star is if she tried to hide it from me or lied about it. Or if it was really weird porn. However, if she could introduce me to Ron Jeremy, and take a picture of me shaking his hand, all would be forgiven.
