Your first thought in the morning

"I hope the anxiety isn't too bad today." Then of course the fact that I just thought about it makes it worse.

After "Ugh," my second thought is usually, "Why is the coffee so far away?"

I have considered many times to use a mini-fridge as my nightstand and put the coffee maker right on top of it so I don't actually have to get out of bed to get my first cup of coffee.

This idea right here is just pure awesomeness. :techman: There are a few occasions in life where I really wish I was a guy, and this is one of those times - guys can get away with actually following THRU on this idea. Which really...is just epic.

I sincerely view coffee as an essential food group with a place at the very TOP of the nutritional pyramid. And no one can ever convince me otherwise.

As for the first thing I think of in the morning, it's usually something like "I wish these dogs would sleep past, like 6:30 am." (I have two Yorkshire Terriers who sleep in the bed with me, and as soon as they get the slightest glimmer of hope that I might possibly be waking up, they are both in my face, in a team facelick).

"Damn, I'm awake."

OR

"Shit...is it 6:00 A.M. already?"

OR

"Shit...I forgot to do that Physics assignment/history reading/fill in the blank of requirement that didn't get done."

Well, shit, I might actually have to do it.

It is usually: "what shall I make for breakfast/brunch?"... I like to plan and savour my first meal of the day, especially the tea. Another one might be: "I do hope I got a decent eight hours." None of it blisteringly profound, I'm afraid. I'm more of an evening person.

It varies a lot from day to day. During the week it's often something like "why does my kids' school district start school so early?" Sometimes it's related to the dream I was just having. Sometimes it has something to do with work. Today I woke up thinking of the research of a guy I met last month and how I might apply that to give some animals the ability to mimic speech.

On working days, especially when its still dark outside or cold or rainy its a thought of astonishment like: "This cannot be true! Its is NOT morning already...want to stay in bed." Or its an annoyed thought, like "Great! I fell to sleep and could not finished my made-up story and now its morning and I have to get up."
However on weekend days or when its sunny and the birds are singing its also often something like: "Yay! What a beautiful day!"

TerokNor

Half the days I wake up, say "Fuck!" and turn off my alarm before I even have an actual thought.
