Your favorite Trek quotes?

"On Earth, there is no poverty, no crime, no war. You look out the window of Starfleet Headquarters and you see paradise. Well, it's easy to be a saint in paradise, but the Maquis do not live in paradise. Out there in the Demilitarized Zone, all the problems haven't been solved yet. Out there, there are no saints — just people. Angry, scared, determined people who are going to do whatever it takes to survive, whether it meets with Federation approval or not!"
-The Sisko

SOVAL: What is their fixation with our ears?
T'POL: I believe they're envious.

"Have we become so feaful? have we become so cowardly? that we must extinguish a man, because he carries the blood of a current enemy?"

"Surrender while you can!"
"I don't think so. My shields are holding, your boarding parties are contained, and my reinforcements are closer than yours. You're fighting a war on two fronts, is this what you really want?"

'Drumhead', TNG and 'Way of the Warrior', DS9?

I've love that speech. I've always seen it as DS9's (belated) mission statement.

"It's easy to be a saint in a paradise" . . . yep!

"Q Who?" written by Maurice Hurley. A script that is at turns delightful, provacative, and terrifying, it showcases Q at his most quotable:

"Con permiso, Capitan. The hall is rented, the orchestra engaged. It's now time to see if you can dance."

"Oh, no. This is as real as your so called life gets."

"If you can't take a little bloody nose, maybe you ought to go back home and crawl under your bed. It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross, but it's not for the timid."

I didn't read all of the posts when the thread began, but anyway this one is good enough to repeat.

Fear: "I'm afraid"
Janeway (holograph): "I know"
Fear: "Drat"

Bravissimo!!!!

Yeah I always thought it was the quote that best represented the show. It's also just one of the best lines in Star Trek imo.

"In every revolution, there's one man with a vision." - James T. Kirk, "Mirror, Mirror", written by Jerome Bixby.

"After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing, after all, as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true." - Spock, "Amok Time", written by Theodore Sturgeon.

"In a different reality, I might have called you 'friend.'" - the Romulan Commander, "Balance of Terror", written by Paul Schneider.

Voyager- The Phage

"You attacked one of our crewmembers and you have lured us into this asteroid. Why? A virus? Some kind of disease? So you harvest the bodies of other beings to replace your own tissues as they're consumed by this phage? I have a great sympathy for what your race has endured, but I cannot allow you to keep the organs you removed from one of our crew members. We need them back immediately. So now I am left with the same choice you made. Whether to commit murder to save a life, or to allow my own crewman to die while you breath air through his lungs. I can't begin to understand what your people have gone through. They may have found a way to ignore the moral implications of what you are doing, but I have no such luxury. I don't have the freedom to kill you to save another. My culture finds that to be a reprehensible and entirely unacceptable act. If we were closer to home I would lock you up and turn you over to my authorities for trial, but I don't even have that ability here, and I am not prepared to carry you forever in our brig. So I see no other alternative but to let you go. Take a message to your people. If I ever encounter your kind again, I will do whatever is necessary to protect my people from this harvesting of yours. Any aggressive actions against this ship or it's crew will be met by the deadliest force. Is that clear?"

I removed the Vidians' contributions here as I just want to focus on the strength of Janeway's dialogue. In large part though, it isn't the words themselves that give this scene so much power, but Mulgrew's delivery, which, IMHO, was one of her finest moments.

"Captain, I hardly believe that insults are within your prerogative as my commanding officer."

So very Spock.

Oh, and this exchange:

SULU (brandishing foil): I'll protect you, fair maiden.
UHURA: Sorry, neither!
(Spock subdues Sulu)
SPOCK: Take d'Artagnan here to Sickbay.

Priceless. Absolutely priceless. :)

Not exactly defining, but for a contribution by the Kazons, it is sufficient to give Voyager an accurate introduction to their time ahead in the DQ

Caretaker- Jabin "You have made an enemy today".

My favorite Quark and Odo scene from my favorite DS9 season 4 episode The Way Of The Warrior.
This is from the second half of The Way Of The Warrior.

ODO: Come on, Quark, move it along. You should be in the emergency shelter by now.
QUARK: I'm not going to any emergency shelter. This is my bar and I'm going to defend it.
ODO: Really? And how do you plan to do that?
QUARK: With this. (Holds out a box)
ODO: You're going to hit them with a box?
QUARK: No. This is my disruptor pistol. The one I used to carry in the old days when I was serving on that Ferengi freighter.
ODO: I thought you were the ship's cook.
QUARK: That's right. And every member of that crew thought he was a food critic. If the Klingons try to get through these doors I'll be ready for them. (Opens box and there's a note inside. Odo takes out the note.)
ODO: (Reading the note) Dear Quark, I used parts of your disruptor to fix the replicators. Will return them soon. Rom.
QUARK: (Angrily grabs the note) I will kill him.
ODO: With what?

Hail, hail, fire and snow. Call the angel, we will go. Far away, for to see, friendly Angel come to me.

Yeah, I would have cited that one as well. but the kids' timbre was just a bit off.

I love McCoy's cynical reaction (when the crew realises V'ger wants 'to touch the creator'):

Touch God...? V'Ger's liable to be in for one hell of a disappointment.
