WoW - Musings & Discussion

Unfortunately, I didn't get to see much of that particular try, as the first valkyr carried me over the edge and dropped me, forcing me to just listen to everything until Terenas' ghost rezzed us all. :shifty:

Heh. At least I finally learned why I rolled a rogue. :)

Rogue A class played by people who insist on having the highest DPS in the game because they cannot do anything else, having rolled a rogue to avoid the possibility of being asked to do anything else.

They've released Druid, Priest, Shaman and Rogue talent trees but some of the talents are obviously placeholders (nom nom nom anyone?).

Something weird happened in WoW to me. I was in a random WOTLK dungeon on a US server and one of the other players had as his realm, "?". Someone else asked him what realm he was from and he said "China".

Any ideas about this? I thought (as I learned in this thread, lol) that China didn't have WOTLK. I was very surprised that the randoms would go across servers like that. I don't recall playing with anyone from the EU but I may have missed it (the randoms seen to be the same 4 or 5 other realms for me).

Got the Blizz mail about the soon to come Real I.D. option. People can ask you to be their Real I.D. friend and they will be able to talk to you across realms.. and see the names of all your chars.. it sound hideous. I'm going to make it my policy to never accept it from anyone. I can just imagine varying people hounding me across realms to "run them through deadmines" or pestering me with conversation when I just want to hang out on my bank and auction stuff. I also have a few RP characters that exist completely separate from me as a player, not keen on having guildies relating to them as me.

I guess a lot of people are more social than I am.

I can see myself using it in the case of a few former guildies that moved to different servers, but that's about it. If I want to chat with people not inside my World (of Warcraft) then that's what regular IMs are for.

Personally, I intend on only using it with, well, people who know my real ID already - coworkers & family. More for cross-game than for cross-character chat (it also works in Starcraft II), but it'll also mean I don't have to deal with getting my alts all invited to the guild. ;)

So, after 2 years of being away from WoW, decided to pick it up again, but this time just casually, as opposed to hardcore raiding.

Any recommendations for a low-pop US PVE server?

I'm enjoying Nesingwary which I transferred to recently. The trade chat is remarkably low key compared to a high pop server I was on. I've played extensively on 3 servers and this one is the nicest so far, quite noticeably so.

Also.. wool cloth goes for 20g a stack ALL THE TIME. You can make a fortune off this! And it's weird because I haven't noticed any other AH differences from the other realms.

Wool is one of those inexplicable things that regardless of where you are or what realm or what time of the year, it's always 20g a stack.

Wait for Cata IMO. Or at least 4.0.

Speaking of which, new zone change preview footage:
