Wow did it turn fall all the sudden for anyone else?

It was a freezing 71F when I left work today. I was shivering a bit by the time I got the 3 blocks to the car, though I was wearing short sleeves, and did not have a jacket. Its nice to save a few bucks by turning the AC off at home though.

This has been the most temperate Summer I ever remember in Maryland, all around. I don't think we had more than a handful of days over 100, even considering the heat index, and it didn't really get consistently into the 90's until August. I didn't even have to turn my AC on until July! Weird. :vulcan:

Same here but I'm up in NY.

Yeah, it's been surprisingly mild up here (not sure where in NY you are) for most of the summer. Quite tolerable except for the middle two weeks this month, which were quite humid.

Long Island and, yes, there were a couple of weeks where it was really, really humid.

Here in New Orleans, there are only two seasons: Hot and Hotter than Hell.

Today was rather cool with mostly overcast skies. It should be raining this weekend too.

Just closed my windows for the night, the air is too cool to keep them open tonight, feels great, but was too cool inside, it is supposed to warm up to 72 by the end of the week :D

Woke up to 52 degrees this morning, I had all my windows open, was a little chilled. It is 56 right now and the high is only going to be 67 today with light rain and clouds. In fact it is going to be in the 60's all the way until Thursday when it breaks 70 degrees for the high then. When did fall get here?

I live in D.C.... it's been uncomfortably warm and humid for a very long time.

There was a definite chill in the air yesterday, and walking around some of the college grounds I noticed a few trees were turning. I even had to throw on a waistcoat for a bit of added warmth for the first time.

Having said that, today is a return to balmy, sunny weather. Usually the first week of September is nice and sunny, with things finally turning permanently around the end of the second week. I suspect the pattern will hold this year too.
I also felt that glitch in the Matrix too. Sounds like the proud summer will be ending soon though, as always.

Summer, like pride, comes before a fall. :D

And, uh, same thing halfway in between ;)

I generally prefer warm weather and summer, so I was pissed off this morning because it was far colder than I was expecting (I actually had to get out of bed in the middle of the night and find a comforter to put on my bed). There was a bright sun, so it wasn't bad walking around, but it's still not what I'm expecting on the first of September.

OP must be in my weather pattern. I noticed it this week. Definitely the first fall-like air over the last few days. Nice cool nights. Not as hot in the day. I love it.

I think its especially noticeable this year (up where we actually have 4 seasons) because we had a heat wave, then a few days of rain, and then the fall-like air.

You must be new here...

It rained for almost 6 weeks here this summer, we had a week of nice weather, a week of high humidity, and now it's freezing

Canadian summers suck! Well, at least this one did :(

^I don't think it stopped raining the whole time I was in the Yukon this summer. I haven't shivered in June in years.

Canadian summers beat being hot and stick down here though.
