Wow did it turn fall all the sudden for anyone else?

Woke up to 52 degrees this morning, I had all my windows open, was a little chilled. It is 56 right now and the high is only going to be 67 today with light rain and clouds. In fact it is going to be in the 60's all the way until Thursday when it breaks 70 degrees for the high then. When did fall get here?

When did it get Fall? I'm pissed because it's barely even been summer round here! It was frikkin freezing here this morning! My little nips were at constant attention AND I'm wearing a white shirt LOL. I maintained and refused to wear a jacket...I'm not ready for fall we need an Indian Summer desperately.

After a month of unrelenting humidity, I couldn't be happier how "nippy" it is out there today :)

^Ditto!

SPOCKED, I think we live in the same general area (Mass.), and it has been pretty brutal up until late last week.

I've been doing field work lots lately and the heat and humidity were stifling!

It was great to open the window and not need the AC for the first time in a month.

I woke up on Saturday and was so glad to be a little chilly for once. I plopped down on the couch, pulled up a blanket, and read a book while the dog slept on my feet. Hard to beat.

But, but...butttttttttt what about all the rain we've had? 2 months of it (at least)...We've only had a few weeks of summer..., we didn't even have spring! And now everybody's happy with a nip in the air? We should be revolting against it...not embracing it. I'm doing my native american puerto rican haitian indian summer heat dance chant tonight to keep summer alive....I'll show you all..expect record temperatures at the end of the week!

There was a definite chill in the air yesterday, and walking around some of the college grounds I noticed a few trees were turning. I even had to throw on a waistcoat for a bit of added warmth for the first time.

Having said that, today is a return to balmy, sunny weather. Usually the first week of September is nice and sunny, with things finally turning permanently around the end of the second week. I suspect the pattern will hold this year too.

You leave me no choice but to nullify your native american puerto rican haitian indian summer heat dance chant with my old american fist shake at the sun drunkl rant to finally drive a final nail in the coffin of Summer '09

Still sunny and hot here, but it's supposed to drop into the 60s for Labor Day weekend.

It was nearly 100 on Friday and Saturday, yesterday if was 79. So yup turned to fall in one day.

Although, we should get several Indian Summer type weeks throughout the Fall season. Best time of the year in NoCal...

It's been almost 110F or so for the last few days!!!!

We're a little better than that--expected high of 102 F today, but should be cooling to the high 90s in a few days.

Last night, it was 97 F at 8:00pm (a thermometer in the car is handy for that)!

I noticed the weather windier and cooler throughout the weekend. And with rain forecast for much of next week, I have a feeling this cool spell isn't going to reverse before autumn sets in proper.

We had the coldest, rainiest July in Iowa's history, August wasn't far off, and today we've got a high of 65.

Sweet.

I didn't mind the rain because it:
1. Kept the temps generally lower
2. Kept everything very green and lush well into August, when it would usually get brown and crispy.
3. It was good for canoeing/kayaking because all the water kept a nice current going in the rivers

It did suck in the sense that it was hard to mow the lawn, plus the rain kept it growing like mad!
