Ah.... Yeah I might change my vote to random person picked up by Voyager and not member of Starfleet. I like being useful but don't do well with strict rules and I would never join the military. I don't think I would necessarily want to work in the kitchen...but I wouldn't mind being on babysitting duty or something.

I would LOVE to work in the kitchen. Trying to be inventive and come up with tasty meals from new and limited resources would be super interesting to me, as well as bartering for strange new foods. The downside would be all the bitching the starfleet peeps do after a lifetime of being able to replicator tweak everything to just as they like it.

They get enough replicator rations for food and necessities.

If they want to use their replicator rations for non necessities, they have to eat in the mess to stay healthy despite the deficit.

(There is replication used during Holodeck use? Holdeck rationing is probably separate, but this play time could clock off against scarcities simultaneously.)

What would have made a nice episode would be someone that fainted on the bridge because they wouldn't eat in he mess, and had better things to spend their replicator rations on than than food.

As a freed Borg, you would have the collective knowledge of thousands of species to help solve all of Voyager's problems. Plus you'd get to hang out with Seven in the cargo bay.

I'd probably be SF. I'd be a xeno-sociologist and help with first contact situations.

I might also be pretty crackerjack in engineering - I love finding out how things work and I'm fairly handy with a wrench.

Voyager would be lucky to have you. They lose a lot of handy people to console explosions ;-)

Or maybe she left to be an actress...you see they reused the baby and modified the make up in episode friendship one

That's a good point: Is there any evidence that freed Borg drones retain all the knowledge they had when they *were* drones?

Does Seven, for example, remember everything she 'knew' when she was part of the collective?

She remembers much, but she has lost her plug in to the library of knowledge. So it's whatever her brain retained. Now the human brain can retain a LOT but she would not have had control over what was immediately clear to her, what she only half remembers etc..

Unless that baby was a super weapon like Icheb the parents were assimilated unless they were on a date during the planetary conquer in which case they got the babysitter instead.
