Hard to imagine WoW Insider still being profitable to the extent they would keep it around at this point.

Operations like that suffer tremendously when casual player interest in the game wanes and ad money dries up. Hard to keep afloat even with a loyal core of paid membership folks, which I'm not even sure they had (?)

They did this with WoD and I like which follows the Timeless Isle with people getting rare/boss kills and sharing loot. They need to go back and do that with at least 40+ zones. Huge undertaking but better.

I remember seeing that there are a ton of silver elites in the old zones after CATA. They are just designed for the level of the zones and drop a rare piece of gear and a gold or two. The only places that don't have quite as many now are Outland and Northrend.

I miss rares. They dropped 99.9999999 (recurring) % shit and you hardly ever saw one, but yeah, it was an event actually seeing one with some of them.

Of course, it was a different story for Hunters. Tameable rares were an incredible rush, especially the more contested ones.

Kinda. I just like how it works where if you can get in on the kill and get credit + loot.

Got the Primordial Slate Direhorn the other day, killing one of the Zandalari Warbringers in MoP. Some guy had been waiting there for ages every time I went past but must have been in the toilet when the thing spawned so BAM.

I don't like stuff being too grab baggy, Timeless Isle was just horrifying to me.

There's a dead body of tlpd in Nagrand. Can't be killed there. You still have to go to stormpeaks to get the mount.
