Wonder Woman (2017)

I hadn't realized that digital FX and post-production were significantly faster than old-school methods. They're so much more elaborate now that I would've thought they'd still take a great deal of time to create even in a computer. Although I imagine a lot of the saved time comes from the fact that film no longer has to be developed, stuff can be e-mailed rather than snail-mailed, etc.

That's a wrap!

Me too.
And it's only a year away now, hoping for a teaser in the coming months.

With "Suicide Squad", maybe?!

Has there been someone announced to compose the music? If he were still alive, I'd have loved to see (or rather hear) James Horner do the score. I read the George Perez run recently with the Avatar soundtrack playing, and that mix of fanfare, dramatic epicness and exotic went very well with WW. Another one I'd love to do it would be Ramin Djawadi.

Cool. Just out of curiosity I looked up Chris Pine and he's 6', but she looks taller than him there. I wonder if that's because of the heels or just the way they're standing?

He's standing about a foot closer to the camera than she is (you can tell from the crack in the floor under their feet), and the camera is above them, so that puts his head lower in the frame. With her heels, they seem to be about the same height.

Gal Gadot's quote:
“In Batman V Superman, you are being introduced to a very experienced, dark Wonder Woman. She has been around for a while. Something happened 100 years ago that made her not want to be involved in a man’s world. However, we are going to tell the entire coming of age story of Diana. We’re going to see how she becomes Wonder Woman. She is very different to the Diana that you see in [Dawn Of Justice]. She is more naïve and she’s purer. She is a young idealist who does not yet understand the complexities of life.”

When Wonder Woman shows up in costume in BvS, she turns the tide of a fight that neither of the title heroes were winning. But Gadot promises us that while there will be action in the Wonder Woman solo movie, that’s not the film’s raison d’être. “I think that the heart of the movie is about the coming of age of Diana. Diana is so passionate about life and she is so passionate about love and truth and justice – and she is very inspiring, even to me. One of the reasons why Patty Jenkins agreed to do this movie was because of the core story. The action is fantastic. You will have action – but we have a very, very solid story to tell.”

Sounds nice, so hopefully that is how the actual final movie will play out.

You know, I know nothing about WW, haven't seen BvS yet, so this might be stupid.... But I was listening to part of the Prometheus soundtrack, track 4, called Life, by Marc Streitenfeld. And somehow, there's a very dramatic, sweeping flow to that track that could work with what I imagine WW could be like. But like I said, I might be completely of track here.

I agree. But, with this being a DC movie, I'll retain some healthy skepticism until I actually see the movie or at least hear reviews.

Why don't you just go ahead and say you hate it now. Then you don't have to wait a year or so to do it, get it off your chest now. I'd hate for you to keep those emotions bottled up, they can fester and cause serious mental health issues.

:cardie: I actually thought that Wonder Woman was one of the few good parts of BvS. Between that, the fact that the WW film is being made by people besides Snyder, and the fact that I want all films based on superheroes to be good means I'm optimistic for this film. DC has burned me too much to think that there is no way this could get screwed up, but from what I've seen and heard I'm optimistic, if a bit cautious.
