I love that all the posters and marketing stuff for this is so bright and color, it helps with the '80s vibes, and it's just a nice change of pace from everything always being so dark.

The wings look like actual physical props there, I had just assumed they were going to be 100% digital the whole time.

That first piece of art looks like it could have come right out of the 80s Wonder Woman (art style wise, at least), and that's really cool. The second pic is weird looking to me for some reason (it looks too digital, if that makes sense) and of course Fake Cheetah is shit anyway. The last picture looks like the cover of an art book or something, I like it.

If they guess the early release day timing the gamble could really pay off because even if all these theaters start opening up I'm not sure what they'll have to show. If they could manage to be the only show in town they stand to clean up.

Or it could go horribly wrong, with people staying away even after cinemas have opened again. It's gonna be a gamble either way for the first few movies.

There will be plenty of cinemas around the world that still aren't open or are having to leave half their seats empty come August. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up getting moved again.

The government here told all the different industries to come up with specific plans for how they can restructure their activities in order to maintain the social distancing society once they reopen. The movie theater industry came to the conclusion that they would have to block off 2/3s of seats in every showing to meet the distancing requirements.

Movie tickets triple in price, and all is fine, for the industry.

    If total collapse is fine.

I don't see anyone here lining up to see any movie in theaters for 33 euros per person.

Guy is almost certainly joking. It's his default setting. :)

They'd be smart to actually lower prices for a good long while and just eat the loss. Tempt people back.

They could play the movies at triple speed (with subtitles)?

That way, they can have three one third sized audiences watch the same movie, one audience after the next, in the same time it takes a regular sized audience to watch a movie at regular speed.

    (Still joking.)

I'm kind of expecting something like that for the first few months, with maybe prices going back to normal around November or December, basically right on time for the really good movies.

Maybe they should consider really cheap specialty screenings of older movies. "Come and see the timeless classic _______ on the big screen for a special low price!"

Could help them judge if people are really ready to attend again without "wasting" a new movie. And if they time it right, a lot of people get the chance to see one of their faves on the big screen for the first time for not too much money. ...Everyone knows the food is where they really get most people anyway. ;)
