WIP: U.S.S. Bozeman revisited--aka Unused TSFS Ship Design.

Perhaps you could think of this design as a scout or a courier? That would justify the biga** engines, I would think, since that would be a desirable design trait for a scout.

Maybe. And if it were a military scout, or some kind of perimeter patrol ship, that would explain the extra torpedo launchers, too.

This is VERY, VERY, nice work, on an equally obscure ship design... I oft wondered what this design would look like in 3 dimensions, and you're doing an AWESOME job with it... please keep it up, as I can totally see this ship as a real and viable design in the Starfleet.

Nice, although I'm not too sure about the diamond-shaped thingy between the two launchers - looks a little out of place on the design, IMHO...

Got a little more work done tonight. Added the torpedo launcher assembly to the secondary hull and stuck some phaser embankments around. There's also a new wedge-shaped structure on the underside of the saucer, and a bit more detailing on the sensor dome down there as well.

Not as much progress as I'd have liked for the last several days, but hey, at least it's something. :p

Wow, you're really doing a good job with a very uneviable task. I like the way the ship is shaping up.

:rommie:

More work done. I rejiggered some of the doodads and hoohas in the thingamabobber near the torpedo launchers; I made it nicer, I guess is what I'm trying to say. Plus lots of new details everywhere.

It's getting close to the point where I'll need to start freezing more of the mesh to get any meaningful work done. Hooray!

Bonus points to whoever can figure out what detail(s) were inspired by part of Vektor's Vanguard.

More great work.

I love the detail in the...in the...whatever that thing is between the forward torpedo launchers. For a moment, I thought you had an aeroshuttle docked in there.

:D

Hmm...

The grills on the back of the bridge module look a little like the ones in front of the Vanguard's bridge module. Aside from that, nothing else is really jumping out at me.

"Unenviable?" :vulcan:

:p

Ok I left out an 'n'. Meant it as a compliment actually... you're taking someone's impressionistic 2d painting and turning it into a reality... and you're staying very true to the source and doing an excellent job. I really like the updates, BTW.

:p :rommie:

Yup. :p They're also on the underside of the secondary hull, in front of the torpedo launcher--I'd originally had a replica of the Vanguards bridge dome down there where the angular nurnies are, as even more of an easter egg, but it looked goofy so I scrapped it.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone--I'm really having fun with this, and it's nice to see people enjoying it. :)

The detail work on this bird really sells it as a creation of ILM's. That is talent and skill at it's finest. :techman:

^^^ You definitely aren't. I thought that exact same thing as well until the detailing started going in there.

Beautiful work, Gep!
