Perhaps you could think of this design as a scout or a courier? That would justify the biga** engines, I would think, since that would be a desirable design trait for a scout.

Wow, you're really doing a good job with a very uneviable task. I like the way the ship is shaping up.

Bonus points to whoever can figure out what detail(s) were inspired by part of Vektor's Vanguard.![]()
This is a work of beauty and it actually reminds me a litte of http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Image:Star_Trek_The_First_Adventure,_USS_Enterprise_concept.jpg this unused concept art for Enterprise in a proposed Star Trek VI film.

"Unenviable?"

Hmm...
The grills on the back of the bridge module look a little like the ones in front of the Vanguard's bridge module. Aside from that, nothing else is really jumping out at me.
They're also on the underside of the secondary hull, in front of the torpedo launcher--I'd originally had a replica of the Vanguards bridge dome down there where the angular nurnies are, as even more of an easter egg, but it looked goofy so I scrapped it.

I love the detail in the...in the...whatever that thing is between the forward torpedo launchers. For a moment, I thought you had an aeroshuttle docked in there.
