Will we see the 24th century in the movie?

There are shots of Romulus getting blown up and Nero in the Klingon prison. But that could all be in flashback.

Scotty mentions Captain Archer. Doesn't that count as B&B?
Yes,...Yes it does:shifty: From the last t.v. trailer I saw, it looked like there was a ''flashback'' scene were romulus is ''destroyed'' by a ''enery wave'' like what we saw at the end of countdown#2 so I would say we will get flashbacks.:vulcan:

I would have thought the start of the film opened with a shot of the Kelvin, a few minutes before the Narada emerged from the time vortex
It might be better to say that the story begins in the 24th century with Nero and Spock, etc. Since we've been told that the movie will present the story in non-linear fashion, what we see at the start of the movie is not necessarily the same as the beginning of the story. Either way, we don't know yet for certain.

Will it be too complex for the average movie goer to follow? :D
If half the stuff that's been rumored here ends up being in the movie, it could be too complex for even the Trek fans to follow. (Bring your protective gear to the theater, in case of exploding heads.)

This is exactly how I expect the film to open. All the 24th century stuff will be told in flashback I reckon.

It's also a very Star Wars thing to do, and we know how much JJ likes SW.

I would put a fair amount of money on the start of the movie being the Kelvin sequence. Probably before Nero's ship emerges, to give the viewer time to take in the situation on the Kelvin.

It also makes sense to launch with a big action sequence first off, most major action blockbusters do it, so again I think it's likely Star Trek will.

The movie will end with Old Spock stuck in the past... when a shuttlepod flies over to him. And out steps... William Shatner as Old Kirk.

"We have to go back, Jim. We have to go back!"

Not the 24th Century, but the Jellyfish (Spocks ship) is late 24th/early 25th century Federation tech, so maybe its interior is reminiscent of that era..

^Would protective gear include POLICE shield and batton?

SHERIFF: Come on now, Earley...you know you can't drive a Camaro off a cliff in the state o' Georgia without good cause!

Back to the Future Part II has just come flooding back to me.

*Nero pushes old James Tubby Kirk off of the edge of the drilling platform. Kirk then comes floating up on the hood of a retro fitted DeLorean where Old Spock opens the door.*

Kirk: "Great shot, Spock. Your not going to believe this, Spock, but we gotta go back to 2255."
Spock: "I dont believe it."

Daaa daaa daaaaaaaa, da da daaa da da dadaaaaaa.

I'll take a punt and say the movie either starts in the 14th Century or immediately as the Narada crosses into the Kelvin's time zone. The latter would certainly make more sense in terms of filmaking and the flow of the movie. But, perhaps we get to see TOS Spock brining us up to date before the time travel scene.

Right after Nero fought in the hundred year war and helped King Daniel I invade Denmark.

Where in Time Is Nero Sandiago?! Nero Sandiago?!
