Although it seems likely we will see characters like Dr. Boyce and Yeoman Colt but the fact they haven't announced castings (yet) does make it possible they won't be casting them and they could simply decide not to show them and say the characters are on shore leave or something; but if they decide to include them who do you want to see play them.

...Well, I don't. Let the crew do the realistic thing and have a bit of rotation, with Boyce retired and Colt and Tyler on some other starship altogether. And bring in all-new characters instead.
Kirk being stuck with the same people for five years straight was hopefully just an artifact of him being on that five-year mission thing. Pike never claimed he would be on one. Or any other Starfleet skipper, for that matter.

Well there's the fella I'm blue who gets sneezed on and that girl in red with the microphone(?) on her face. Maybe theyll be given names of Pike crewmembers in the same way random TOS background names were dished out to extras in the Kelvin movies.

I wouldn't be against Boyce, but I think CBS:AA and the producers are more likely to bring in Young Kirk or Young Uhura before that happens.

Dr. Boyce was Pike's best friend - like McCoy was to Kirk - so if Season 2 spends enough time on the Enterprise I'm sure he'll turn up.

Javid Iqbal will be returning this season to play Ash's twin brother, José.
It would indeed open up story possibilities if Jose Tyler is related to Ash Tyler!
If José Tyler ever does turn up, one of two things will happen:
- Either he'll be played by somebody who isn't as white-bread as the guy from TOS, or
- They'll give him a different first name (AFAIK, "José" was never actually used onscreen)

Probably not. That would take away from Burnham and her angst. CBS can't have that.
