It would be extremely fanwanky and small-universe. Which means of course they'll do it.

I'd call that grim, not neat!I'd find it really neat if they stumbled upon a historical record of all the Enterprises and then they'd notice it simply stops after let's say M or N, as a first suggestion of something having happened to the Federation in the meantime. And then they'd find the wreck blown open with centuries-old frozen corpses still floating around it.
Where have you been the last two years?
Grim, perhaps, but it would fit Discovery's atmosphere for me. I'd have no problems with the future being a bleak one if the crew can either be a flame of hope or if their stay there is not a permanent one.I'd call that grim, not neat!![]()
Waiting for Discovery to become a credible sci-fi series...![]()
I wish I had that kind of time to waste.
Too early unfortunately by a decade, its not launched until 2409, the Odyssey prototype itself is launched in 2405.I would rather not see the Enterprise, whatever letter they're up to. One new Enterprise at a time. We have the Discoprise. I'm sure the Picard Series will show us the Enterprise-F.

Depending if they went 930 years or 950 years in the future. Kurtzman doesn't remember himself, how do you expect us to keep it straightNo, because they've only gone to the 32nd century.![]()
True they could ignore all of it if they want but I dont think they will unless they truly have to.That doesn't matter if they want to show an Enterprise-F.

They’ll find a way, somehow.I don't know? They'll have a lot more free time now that they can't really fall back on fanwank.
Dude, the new season's going to be even more fanwank than before. Now they can bring in the Borg, the Dominion, the Romulans. And they can reference stuff from TNG, DS9 and Voyager to their heart's content. They'll probably limit how much they reference stuff from the Picard Show because it's in production and they don't want to risk contradiction or spoilers, but it's otherwise open season on the Trek Canon.I don't know?
