I have only rewatched the Mudd episode. I started a Trek binge so doing ENT season 2 at the moment so will rewatch DISC sometime next year.
You forgot 'A Night in Sickbay.'
Discovery won't stand up to repeat viewings. Mainly because it relies too heavily on arc cliffhangers and cheap twists. Once you know what happens, you are less inclined or interested to rewatch an episode.
The writing is also very surface-level, so there isn't much to go back and rewatch for deeper meaning on repeat viewings.
I can already tell from this board and others that the 'honeymoon' phase for STD is coming to an end. Many convinced themselves that they enjoyed the episodes during first viewings, but then had mixed/divisive reactions to the season as a whole on retrospect, when looking at the big picture.
Streaming series are (by and large) linked stories that have to be watched together, so I don't know how often people will have the desire and time to absorb them all in one sitting.

Don't know about that. Sonequa Martin-Green's performance has ALOT of layers to it and they unspool deliciously on repeat viewings. Speaking as someone who just finished rewatching "Into the Forest".
I haven't seen that at all. What I HAVE seen is a lot of haters being negative for negativity's sake pretty much from the beginning.
I was thinking of making a similar thread. I don't think Discovery will hold as well for 2 main reasons which have nothing to do how you appreciate the series or not.
1) Too few episodes per season. Unless Discovery goes on for 10-12 seasons there likely won't have so many episodes as previous trek series. It could be annoying to rewatch a series where you know almost every lines by heart.
2) Episodes are not like mini-movies (unless it changes for the second seasons). In other trek series, including DS9, every episodes are like a mini sci-fi movie by themselves. While there's aspect of continuity and some character/storyline arcs; most of the episodes of previous trek series beside 2 parters and some final season episodes can be watched on their own. Sometimes, they are part of an arc with the return of some enemies, involve family members or repercussion/follow-up on a previous episodes in previous seasons, etc. But they can still be watched on their own, most also do have a topicality to them (sci-fi type of 'what ifs', social/cultural/political issues viewed through sci-fi prism, etc) rendering them interesting.
I think series like Star Trek, Stargate, Doctor Who have a lot of replay value because you can always pop-in an episode and appreciate it. While a series like Lost was a great series with good dialogues, mystery and characters, but it relied too much on continuity and wanting to know what happens next to appreciate it. You can binge rewatch a series like Lost and have a lot of fun but you can't just pop-in the fourth episode of the second season and truly enjoy it. You don't remember what happenned before and at one point you are in the storyline; all while the bigger element of suspence about what will happen next doesn't exist anymore since you remember the big twists of the series.

First time viewing? Astonishing show!
Repeat viewings (after it ended)? I’d rather watch paint dry.
I recorded all of the eps on PVR when they aired, and I've watched each one at least 3 times. I'm currently rewatching again, an episode each Sunday. Some I like more than others, of course, but it's still a fun string of episodes. It's cool to watch it back now knowing Lorca is Mirror-Lorca, Ash Tyler is Voq, and Voq really is played by Shazad Latif.
I've actually enjoyed it far more now (or...at least as much) than in first run. It's fascinating seeing it now with the context of how everything fits together.

I grew to like DSC after shaky start, but so far haven't had any desire to rewatch unlike other Trek series or shows like nuBSG. Maybe will in time.
Remember VOY being very big in UK on first run. Still love, but watching DS9 later in binge-watch it's a far superior show, and even grown to like TNG.

Actually that's work. With that kind of first encounter with Mirror Borg, Federation has miss conception about the Prime Universe Borg, and that's create a massive disaster when the PU Borg come at the first time in the future.
My prediction is that people who enjoy it will watch it so much they will get tired of it sooner and at some point they will see it as overrated. Other people will watch or give it a second chance and feel like it wasn't so bad after all. If the later seasons become great also the season's quality will be associated with that greatness and feel part of it. KInd of like looking at show in it's infancy when it was still trying to figure things out. The canon issue also will stop being a issue. People will no longer feel the need to worry about it being part of the Prime Universe because it will never really fit into those older shows. Not enough connections in terms of writers/actors or asthetics. The show will be seen as it's own thing or part of some new thing if it inspires any spin-offs that are connected to it via writers or actors. Also Nostiga will inspire people even futher down the line to watch because once the younger fans start to get old then these days become "The Good Ole Days" and people will want that comfort from watching something familiar from when they were young. Older fans will be dead or like me in my cryo-tube waiting to be brought back to life once they find a cure to dying.
