Why Was The Actor Who Played Benjamin Sisko Replaced

Which Actor Did You Prefer

The first actor was stiff and offputting so they brought in a different guy who was much better suited to chewing the scenery.

You can really notice the difference when they switched, because by the end of the series, the second guy was a lot shorter than that kid playing his son.

What really confused me is when they replaced the Enterprise-D with some kind of space station and then replaced all of the actors except for the guy who played O'Brien. :wtf: RANDOM! Then to make matters worse, Worf appears out of nowhere a few years later. How does THAT happen?

Don't be dumb. There's only two guys who played Sisko. But there's SEVEN guys who played Jake.

They kept Spiner, who looked hot with the leopard spots running up his neck.

Since they changed it up with the new bald actor, I wonder if they ever considered hiring Patrick Stewart instead? Sure, Stewart is kind of obscure, but he's a really great actor. I've always wanted to see him in a leading role on a Star Trek series. Ah well. A man can dream.

for a short period of time the second sisko wore a wig to ease viewers into the change of actor.
I'm pretty sure the first Sisko got his own back at some point. Isn't that him in season six's Waltz and Far Beyond The Stars?

They brought in a lookalike for Stars, called Benny Russell. That was the only time they used an actor's real name in an episode.

All of this talk about Sisko, and I'm still amazed no one's noticed that an entirely different actor played Kirk during the TOS films. I mean, look at all that extra hair he had!

That was hair?

I thought it was a Tribble that decided to live on top of Kirk's head!:p

Really, each hairpiece should be uniquely named and listed in the opening credits of each film. Somewhere between Doohan and Nichols.

It looks like he used multiple hair pieces in TMP. His hair changes between the scenes at Starfleet Headquarters and subsequent scenes at the inverted Regula space station before going to Enterprise. It changes again when he changes out of his admiral uniform into a regular duty uniform.

I say it's better to be bald and in charge like Picard and Sisko, than have to wear a tribble on your head.

Think about Shatner as he was in the last films. Now think about him with no hair. I think you'll see where I'm going with this.

I probably would have preferred bald Janeway over the Janeway with horrible hair that we got during the first seasons of VOY.:p
