Not quite sure how people still come out with this when there have been showrunners people have been receptive to after a bad period.
Ira Behr, Manny Coto, Akiviva Goldsman, Terry Matalas off the top of myhead. RDM was heavily involved in DS9 with Behr too supposedly.
The comment that Pubes was responding to was in regards to the head of the franchise. Someone such as Kurtzman or Berman, not the individual showrunners. And yes, it's a pretty safe bet that whoever does eventually replace Kurtzman will be hated by at least some members of the fandom. Trek clearly means different things to different people, and some in the fandom seem to hate anything that doesn't conform to their individual beliefs on the direction the franchise should take.

There are people here who are so obsessed with ratings, they post 5,000 word diatribes with charts and graphs on it. They get giddy at the prospect that they’ve found the nugget that will take Kurtzman down. Why does that matter? Honestly?
It doesn’t matter to me if a show gets canceled or not. I have a job, a wife, two kids, and a dog. I don’t have time to worry about ratings. It’s entertainment and there’s tons more out there in the world at the moment.
The persecution complex is strong in this one.

That's true, but there will always be people who are disliked for whatever reason. Matalas is disliked for people on here simply because he made Star Trek palatable to people once more for a brief moment rather than universally reviled. I remember with Enterprise it was the same thing when Coto briefly made it a logical series that felt somewhat like Trek.
Then you should answer the question of what barometers you consider a success instead of running away and initating dogpiles to the detriment of a once respected community.

But, from what I have seen, that is impossible from certain users trying to appeal to a certain group of users.
Prosecution might work. There are fans who feel show runners and franchise heads should be tried for capital crimes.
Well, against my better judgement I tried to engage in a faithful argument. Instead, I get attacked. Won’t make that mistake again.
The only thing I care about at the end of the day is if I am entertained. That’s the only metric I care about.
