Why no love for Phlox?

I do like the whole crew, mind you...BTW, I saw a screencap at Trekcore of Behind-the Scenes on STE, from the DVDS, which I don't have, in which that nut John B. is dressed up as a pregnant blond woman....oh, the poor mate of that gal!!LOL. I can imagine the hijinx he created off-screen...he certainly can play a creepy villain, as well, as he did on what, ''Cold Case'' a season ago or so....

I actually liked him in 'Out of Time' as the one who assists Denzel Washington's character...(That role is the only one I've seen outside of him portraying Phlox)...

Phlox is part of my 'Big Four': Hoshi, Travis, Malcolm, and...Phlox...

Although, I do like T'Pol as well....which would probably make it my 'Big Five'....

Nothing but hugs and kisses for Phlox. Billingsley took that role and ran with it. Even when the script was bad, John was off and running.

He never got enough air time.

Just in case you guys didn't know, Billingsley has a pretty significant role in the new disaster porn flick 2012. He totally nails it too, I highly recommend you check it out, even if you find yourself going "oh come on, that can't happen" a few times, it's still a fun ride and he makes it even better.

Just a little sidenote, as I know Phlox has been compared to Neelix: Phlox wouldn't have put up with Neelix getting into everything, and telling cheesy stories and giving cheesy one-liners during times of crisis. Phlox would have given Neelix a mild tranquilizer, that would have put that Talaxian to sleep for an hour or two...or three...etc

(Neelix would eventually wake up, but be out of the way for majority of the time).

First off, let me start by saying I'm not a huge ENT fan. But I think Phlox was the best character on the show. It's so funny that a number of people have said Phlox is what Neelix should have been. I had the exact same thought when I first started watching ENT. He was quirky yet optimistic. Loved his assortment of creepy critters, like the osmotic eel. Just my two cents. It seemed to me he was a civilan doctor, as he had no other rank/title I can remember. -- RR

Agreed. I always liked Phlox, I appreciated his sense of humor and optimism. There's far too little of those on TV these days.

The EMH got far more air time and eps devoted to him. Phlox had plenty of potential for the same but sadly it wasn't to be.

I just rewatched Dear Doctor and though I despise the ending it's a great Phlox ep. His narration about humans is great stuff.
