I agree that if the Beeb can do felinoid make-up like this, why not Paramount?

Someone posted a photo-realistic pic of M'Ress on the TOS bridgr: can't remember the thread, but the art was stunning!

I would really like to see her 'Abramized' with the new uniform and bridge background from the new movie. Arex too!

They did! ST IV and ST V both featured felinoid characters.

IMO the idea of a race of 'cat people' called the Caitians is at best a gimmick, at worse idiotic. Leave that kinda thing to Lucas ...

We did have a Caitian character on TNG. Unfortunately, it was involved in one of those horrible de-evolution accidents that happen so often on Trek...
