I'm currently enjoying Nana Visitor's book about the women of Star Trek and it got me thinking about starting this thread. It's a poll but discussion is encouraged. I also created this thread as a quasi appreciation thread for all the wonderful female characters we have gotten over the years in Star Trek.
Requests/ perimeters
Do not vote for your favorite female character. But rather the character you feel has had the most development /rich in substance So you may even choose a character that you may not like as a character but conceed is the most wel developed. A side discussion on how your choice differs from your favorite character is also welcome.
Also, I've decided the development from different actors and series counts. So with Chapel for example, factor in both TOS and SNW character elements cumulatively.
Prime Univers only ( exception Emporer Geargio)
At the risk of being called a victim of recency bias with Visitor's book, I voted for Kira. So many dimensions to this character.
Apologies in advance for missing characters.
Btw, I don't think screen time necessarily = well developed. So you could make a case on a character ( like T'Lyn) that has had limited screen time but offers allot of "bang for you buck" in terms how well the character is written/ pulled off.
