Well, it depends on the quality of the theatre, and the quality of the print. I saw a 70mm print of 2001: A Space Odyssey at the Aero in Los Angeles a year ago and noticed small details that I had never seen, even on Blu-Ray (which looks great).

One wonders why he wasn't at Jabba's palace with an army of troops to catch Luke at the beginning of ROTJ.

I went to a screening at the Aero, which was after that had happened at the Egyptian, I believe. Glad I missed the freak out, honestly. Way to ruin the movie.
