Why Do People Prefer the Earlier Seasons?

I'm starting to have flashbacks.
Me too.
All I'm going on is actor interviews and convention appearances in which the actors describe the later seasons as being more fun and comfortable for everyone. But I guess you know better than KATE MULGREW don't you :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Okay, this is getting tedious. If you have some links by all means post them. Otherwise, knock it off already.

knock what off, defending my statements?
No, trying to troll Lynx. You're not being very subtle about it.

"Flashback". :techman:

That was a very good season 3 episode.

A time-jumping episode somewhat different from similar episodes. The idea of an adventure based on Tuvok's memory is a bit wrid but works out dine. It was also nice to see good, old Sulu again.
Love, love, love Sulu.

Love, love, love Tuvok but I was so unbelieveably dissappointed by this ep. it's actually one of the few I can't watch.

This is coming from someone that can tolerate "Spirit Folk" and "The Thaw".

Spirit Folk was good, it was funny!

While Kes was certainly not the best Trek character EVAAR and I overall prefer Seven, I don't think Kes was a genuinely damaging character and Jennifer Lien was a competent, wonderfully quirky (I'm a fan of the MIB cartoon and she gave a better account of herself than Avery Brooks in American History X).

I disagree about the Avery Brooks part and only that part.

Avery was outstanding in American History X. He even has the most important line in the film. "What has all this done to make you life better?" is single question that makes Ed Norton's character rethink & change his life for the better. His bond with Brooks is pivotal to that film. The film would have fallen apart without Brooks character and what he represented. He was the only Black man during the entire films run that he trusted and thought differently of.

agreed, the only bad part about that movie was that Jennifer Lien was in it

Why must every thread be turned into a "Jennifer Lien bashing thread" or "Kes bashing thread"?

First of all, this thread is actually not about "American History X" so stay on topic.

Second, the fact that Jennifer Lien had a role in this highly rewarded movie is clear evidence that she's a good actress, otherwise she haven't been offered the job.

Third, I find the "campaign" against Jennifer Lien tasteless to say the least. She's a good actress and deserves respect for her work.

As for the earlier seasons of Voyager and why people prefer them, which this thread is actually about, I guess that many fans like the fact that all Characters were given their fair share of the spotlight compared to the later seasons which were focused on three characters.

The stories were better in the earlier seasons too.

As the topic states "why do people prefer the earlier seasons?", my answer is "Kes". I absolutely loved the character and and IMO Jennifer played the part very well.

I totally agree with what you have written in your post. :techman:
