I would be surprised if China adds more than 50 million dollars. Japan, France, Spain may add another 15 million together. But that's it.
This movie will barely make 300 million Dollars in total.
There is stupidity involved, but I suspect it's mine...
[sigh] Me too......and will likely buy the lost clips release coming later this year.![]()
I don't think I'm the target audience. I'm coming to the conclusion I may only be going to see them because they've got Star Trek in the title...
We're only in week 2 of the movie and, to my knowledge, there's nothing really big coming out after Suicide Squad, so Trek might not get shoved out of theaters yet.
The choices were, become bitter and spend the rest of my days bitching or deal with it. Like all the times Trek evolved before I chose to deal with it.
"There was an Independence Day 2," Spiner said. "I think as many people saw it as saw Nemesis." - See more at: http://www.startrek.com/article/george-kirstie-warp-into-star-trek-las-vegas#sthash.93ed34YG.dpuf
not STB related but an amusing comment by Spiner regarding ID2 box office:
Speaking as a Trekkie who came in 1990, I got to know the franchise and love all members. And this new timeline... I love seeing this what if played out. I also like the idea that Beyond implied. Post-ID, I think Ambassador Spock realized that he could not keep quiet about the possibilities of what might come to his counterpart and their friends. And so in that year while they waited for the Enterprise to be repaired and readied for its five year mission, he told them of his journeys and the friends he knew. I wonder, however, if he didn't tell them of the infamous fan dance...

You know, adjusting for 14 years worth of inflation, there could very well be some truth to that claim.not STB related but an amusing comment by Spiner regarding ID2 box office:
And?I don't think that's likely at all. It's far more likely Star Trek Beyond will reach 150 to 160 million (I think it will be closer to 150 than 160) in the US.
And the foreign markets are now on 66 million. You really think we will be getting a 150 million Dollars more from countries outside the US??? Absolutely not. In every country this movie is down from the previous one. I would be surprised if China adds more than 50 million dollars. Japan, France, Spain may add another 15 million together. But that's it.

Be cool if it was dubbed into "British English."The UK version is only $99.00 (US)

I enjoyed the film. I think it "flopped" because of the lack of marketing, unappealing trailers and because Into Darkness possibly turned people off.
