Hey, they were certainly more assertive and played more of a forward role compared to the women on TOS..... that and it was still the 80's for the most part, where things were still on the move in gender equality.
But having a female senior security officer, a female chief medical officer, and troi who seemed to know exactly what to say to help people in the episodes, I can't agree with your above claims.
Nor do I see how being annoying equates to sexist. Annoying is subjective in this case.
i wonder how geordie could see a hologramm, his visor didn't operate with visible light. that engineer love of him as photonic and the real thing must have looked quite differently to him. on the other hand, in the movie generations he could obviously see like one of us, while in an earlier episode, there was just a blur.
don't you think tng was extremely sexist? most of the female characters were annoying, the o'brien woman, tasha yar who didn't even survive one season, and the two sleeping pills troi and crusher in particular. the women of voy, ds9, and ent were a lot more colourful.
