LaForge is just one of those hopelessly unlucky in love types. Something always seems to get in the way or those relationships just never quite work out...

I'll ignore the "LaForge and Gomez? Eeew..." bit.

Tell LaForge to step up to the bar and welcome to the club, I can relate with him on that, and drinks are on me.

I say why not go for the super cute ones? After who knows how long of Geordi having to spend his friday nights either in engineering or drowning his frustrations with whatever concoctions Guinan's got at her bar, I say go after the most desirable girls he can find. 'Cause if he managed to do well with at least one of them, that would more than make up for all the past months/years of misery he's had untill now.

And if he REALLY is despressed....I'd walk up to him and say, "Things coud be worse....look at Barcley!"

Geordi and Sonya would have made a cute couple, I think.

The actress is named Lycia Naff. She got her start in Fame, and had a pivotal role in Lethal Weapon as the prostitute Dixie. According to IMDB, she worked as a journalist for The Miami Herald and The National Enquirer. She's my age, and it looks like she's still hot!

She was also the triple breasted mutant in Total Recall. Were the other two boobs real or latex?

And yeah, still hot.

I wrote half a story were Gomez was a grieving and pregnant "widow" after her boyfriend Data died in Nemesis.

I really took that saying "thank you" to replicators to heart.

As someone else said in this thread, at least he's not Barclay, bless his heart! Also, the women who seemed interested in Geordi were in his department, which would've created ethical problems for him as a department head. It would've made sense to have him hook up with someone from a different department, like a hot young doctor, or a command officer on Gamma Shift. -- RR

Yes that's the one. Horrible hairdo, but the rest of her is not bad!

I don't get why Geordi would care abour facial beauty which he can't see anyway (all he can see is several wavelengths that the normal eye can't). His visor gives him usable sight, but for fine details like beauty, he's essentially blind.

Picture yourself not fully blind, but maybe with a condition like Macular Degeneration, which causes you to see everything fuzzy. You can still walk around, but you look at someone's face and all you see is fuzzy, like looking thru a translucent glass.

You're basically relying more on touch than sight if you're boinking a chick. So she doesn't have to have a perfect face as long as she's fit and has the other physical traits

As for the relationship between Geordi and Sonya, it never seemed romantic to me. It was more of a mentor-student relationship, with Geordi, usually painted as the super-nerd, being somewhat protective of her and steering her away from her own geekiness.

Yeah that's who I thought you were talking about. I don't know why they only had her in a couple of episodes. O'Brian was in a few more doing about as much as she was in each episode, and then he became a main character on DS9.

But I don't think I remember the one you're talking about. I thought him growing the beard was a lot earlier then seasons 6/7. Then again it's been a while since I seen them all.

LaForge and Gomez seemed more like teacher and student or big brother and little sister. She has a naturally friendly disposition, but I don't think there were any romantic sparks between them.

I'm sure if he tried, he could make the sparks fly... but he's too much of a goodie goodie to take a shot at one of his underlings.

i wonder how geordie could see a hologramm, his visor didn't operate with visible light. that engineer love of him as photonic and the real thing must have looked quite differently to him. on the other hand, in the movie generations he could obviously see like one of us, while in an earlier episode, there was just a blur.
don't you think tng was extremely sexist? most of the female characters were annoying, the o'brien woman, tasha yar who didn't even survive one season, and the two sleeping pills troi and crusher in particular. the women of voy, ds9, and ent were a lot more colourful.
