Who were your favorite characters?

Janeway, of course, the unique, iconic role-model
B'Elanna, another strong woman who knew her stuff
Chakotay, 1st officer who could command as well.

I think virtually all of the Voyager characters are people I would enjoy hanging out with.
I can't really say that about the other Star Trek shows.
I'm kind of partial to the Maquis officers who dropped out of Star Fleet. B'elanna Torres and her bad temper...I can relate to that. The Doctor's initial dislike of people, I relate to that too.
But even Captain Janeway seems more likable than the devoted Star Fleet officers of the other shows. She liked being an officer and took it seriously but she obviously had a life outside of it. I don't believe most of the other Captains did. And most of the other crews were sort of repressed underling to their captains. Sorry to badmouth the other shows, but this is the Voyager board. Voyager is the coolest Trek and we are obviously the most intelligent of the Star Trek fans. :)

Hey I'm new to the site, and Chakotay and B'Elanna Torres are my favorite characters by far. Chatokay is so warm and friendly and the episode where he is left alone on that planet with Janeway made me like him all the more. I also admire B'Elanna's strength and strong will that comes from her half and half genes. She reminds me of myself.

I loved the Women.
Voyager had the BEST WOMEN

Janeway: She's the best character I've ever seen and I'm a huge fan of the actor.
B'Elanna: I love the fire and tech savvy-ness...the turmoil between her too sides
Seven: Just what the show needed. Someone to stand up to Janeway
Kes: So wonderful, so pretty so soft...she was the real woman on the show.

Absolutely Agreed!

Around the time Voyager was starting I remember hearing a rumor that Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troy on TNG) made part of her negotiations for a TNG movie that there be a female captain on the next show they did. I wonder if there's any truth to that? I'd sure love to know.

1. Janeway
2. Paris
3. Seven
4. Harry
5. Doctor
6. Neelix
7. Tuvok
8. B'elanna
9. Chakotay

Kes, my absolute No 1., then my fave Kathryn Janeway, and Chakotay as the top three, following then Neelix, and I would of course as a longtime Voy fan put next in order Tom, Harry, Lanna, and the Doctor. Afraid I'm not a Seven fan, though. It's heartening, to see a good number of high listings for my fave Ocampa here. Hats off to all. By the way, in case noone of Kesfandom is aware, Trekcore has a great new pic of Jen in the Only Human photo section for July shot some years ago. And I thought I had 'em all!! (Downloading it now!) A must have for sure.

1. Janeway (The captains are always my faves--must be a power issue) ;)
2. EMH (Talk about someone exploiting a character!)
3. Seven of Nine (She did such a great job I forgot she was eye candy)
4. Tuvok (It isn't easy to play a Vulcan--he should have given Jolene lessons)
5. Paris (A scamp with a heart of gold--lots of fun)
6. Torres (Fire and ice--a great engineer)
7. Chakotay (Lost potential here--he deserved better)
8. Neelix (Although I know he was supposed to be annoying, he annoyed me. lol)
9. Kes (Nice, but the touchy-feely characters seldom come across well)
10. Kim (I liked the prehensile plant better)

1. Chakotay
2. Janeway
3. Torres
4. Paris
5. Harry
6. Tuvok
7. Kes
8. Neelix
9. Seven

When the show was on I wasn't Seven's biggest fan - purely because of her over-use and handy-dandy 'all singing all dancing nanoprobes', but I have come to really appreciate and love her as a character now that the show is over. Fanfic treats her more kindly, too, on the whole.

So far . . .

1. Janeway
2. Tuvok
3. B'Elanna
4. Chakotay
5. Kes
6. Tom Paris
7. Neelix
8. Harry
9. Seven

But I'm only halfway through season four right now.

I've always liked Kes, especially in the episode I watched tonight, Warlord, which was her second best episode after my favorite Kes episode, Before and After. She was such an innocent, and her stuff with the Doctor in the early seasons are underrated. She provided a voice for the Doctor and both characters developed really well in the early seasons.

I also like 7 of 9, but it was opportunity wasted that both Lien and Ryan couldn't be on the same show together. That would have provided a nice character bond, and added more storylines for Kes, which as many people have said she didn't have much to begin with. In ranking the characters from favorite to least favorite though:

1. Kes
2. Torres
3. 7 of 9
4. The Doctor
5. Janeway
6. Tuvok
7. Paris
8. Icheb
9. Chakotay
10. Kim (Wish we had gotten more passion Kim from Timeless a lot more in the later seasons)
11. Neelix
