Who is the worst character in all of Star Trek main cast?

Who is the worst (mainstage) character in Trek?

But in the case of William Riker, the scene writing was okay, the acting was fine, but the character itself - someone whose job seems to be split between repeating what the captain just said and playing the trombone - kinda sucked.

I don't agree at all, but this is a fine description.

I hated everyone on Voyager except the Doctor and Tuvok, so I guess I would vote Pulaski. What a carbon chauvinist bitch. (Nothing against Muldaur, of course.) I don't dislike her because she wasn't a MILF (GMILF?), or because she wasn't "feminine," but because she was so bigoted and vile to Data, just because he was an AI. She didn't belong in Starfleet whatsoever.

I did like the bit where she was banging Riker's dad. Pretty hilarious.

I liked Riker, although I'm still a bit miffed that the film series told us that Mr "I want to be a captain by the time I'm 35" stayed as Picard's XO for another eight years after the TV series ended. Couldn't they have made him a Captain like they did with Sulu in Star Trek VI?

Yar. I hate her and most scenes she's in. I'm not sure why but I have nothing against the idea of the character. There's just something about the way she acts. Neelix, Nog and Jake were annoying in the first few seasons of their respective shows but Yar is still much worse as a character.

i voted troi of course. yawn. can't stand that useless woman. the wild-eyed tasha yar made one season only, too good. you forgot morn. had more appearances than half the cast of your list. :p

I apologize if this has been addressed before, but why aren't any of the Enterprise characters listed?

Bashir people. He was just as boring at the end of the series than when it started. All other characters evolved someway.

Bashir is not in my top 10 DS9 characters, but he's certainly not a bad character, and in fact he was one of the characters who evolved the most during the show. In the first couple of seasons he was really annoying and his centric episodes were usually the worst, by the end he was quite likable and at involved in some of the best episodes and storylines (Section 31).

The worst characters in Trek IMO are: Chekov, Rand, Chapel (TOS), Wesley, Yar (TNG), Rom (DS9), Chakotay, Kim, Neelix (VOY), Mayweather (ENT), and Deanna Troi just barely escapes the top 10 because she was kinda likable and had her good moments (like Face of the Enemy).

Well for me I didnt really care for any of the charcters from DS9, because I just didnt like the show. But also I dont think the acting of the charcters were as good as the other charcters from the other shows. I dont think Sisko played a very strong captain as Kirk, and Picard and the other captain's did, but thats my oppion of course. And as for as the other charcters from DS9 like Kira, I dont she played the role of a comanderas well as Spock and Riker did. And of course of have other reasons why I dont think the charcters from DS9 as strong as the others from other shows, but it take to long, so thats why I just listed a few.

I voted for Neelix. In my opinion, he took away more from the show than what he brought to it. It wouldn't take a giant adjustment to make Neelix a more interesting character, like making him competent. There was no need to make him the chef. He was already the guide and survival expert, yet I don't recall him doing much guiding or helping the crew survive (In fact, 30 seconds into being a team leader in Basics, he got a man killed). He just failed as a character role.

The worst character was everyone on ENT except for Phlox. Billingsley nailed that character.

I've been thinking about this, but I'm going to have to say overall, I'm going to go with Kes.

I'm not sure how to explain it, other than her character seemed entirely irrelevant and very "blah". I almost voted for Chakotay mainly because I really liked his character in the beginning of Voyager but then he just dissolved into nothing where if he wasn't there you wouldn't care or notice.

Other characters I find pretty bad are Wes, Yar, and Mayweather.

This will take a minute to get this poll up. I by "worst" I mean most poorly written, least interesting, worst character developing, worst acting etc. etc. Just all around "worst."

tom paris. hands down. the only one who's even CLOSE is his WIFE.

I chose Wesley for this poll, like almost eveyone else. Though I have to say I feel a little guilty about it. "Wesley" was Gene Roddenberry's middle name, and he chose to put a little of himself in there for a reason, so I feel almost as though I have wronged Mr. Roddenberry by choosing Wesley for the worst character. I have good reason for it, Wesley could have been developed more and written in a way that wasn't so childish, but I still feel bad about it.
