Then again, the classic MGM production of The Wizard of Oz also went through multiple directors, cast changes, etc.

(Although, yeah, that 1960s version of CASINO ROYALE is a mess.)

Kirsten is the series' official co-creator, with Alex Kurtzman.

And this is why we can count on Picard being an awfully goddamn good show, folks. I'm a Beyer Partisan all the way. She's fantastic.

Nah. Some people when we found out about him decided to ignore everyone else that was in that room and just assumed and decided he was the lead person for some reason. I remember being really annoyed when that was happening. People were outright ignoring Kristin Beyer's role in this as swell.

I am very happy for her. She should be getting some nice royalty checks for a long time.

To answer the OP, Kurtzman has said there is a group of 6 who are the showrunners. So here is my educated guess at that list:
    Alex Kurtzman
    Michael Chabon
    Akiva Goldsman
    James Duff
    Kristen Beyer
    Patrick Stewart

It sounds to me that because of the reduced budget they aren't following the original template as planned.

What reduced budget? What original template?

Due to the agreement between CBS and Paramount, the budget has to be 25% less than planned, to match the 25% difference in allowed EPs...
