Who is the Star Trek: Picard Showrunner?

Oh goody. Another ensemble group - which can end up being hit or miss... Speaking of, look up that movie from 1967 that had so many different writers and directors... I believe the title was... "Casino Royale". Among other things, usually ensemble teams can strengthen scripts, if the ensemble is really solid and running on all cylinders and not running around in a dozen different directions that can't agree on... like squirrels that just ate nuts spiked with crystal meth. In other words, that poor broth always gets spoiled by too many chefs...

Then again, the classic MGM production of The Wizard of Oz also went through multiple directors, cast changes, etc.

(Although, yeah, that 1960s version of CASINO ROYALE is a mess.)

I though Chabon was supposed to be running thing for picard. I thought I read that somewhere
Nah. Some people when we found out about him decided to ignore everyone else that was in that room and just assumed and decided he was the lead person for some reason. I remember being really annoyed when that was happening. People were outright ignoring Kristin Beyer's role in this as swell.

To answer the OP, Kurtzman has said there is a group of 6 who are the showrunners. So here is my educated guess at that list:
Alex Kurtzman
Michael Chabon
Akiva Goldsman
James Duff
Kristen Beyer
Patrick Stewart

Kristin Beyer seems to be the lowest ranked member of the writing staff, but she is the one that supposedly came up with the basic concept for the series.

It sounds to me that because of the reduced budget they aren't following the original template as planned.

It's funny. Back when I was an editorial assistant at William Morrow, I remember everyone being all excited by this hot new literary author, Michael Chabon, whose first novel, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, was getting a lot of buzz.

Jump ahead thirty years and he's running a new STAR TREK series. Didn't see that coming. :)

Kurtzman has been replaced to helm this fledgling series?

On edit:
