Originally the S31 show wasnt to start filming until S3 of Discovery was done with Georgiou returning to the present sometime during the season ready for the S31 show, if that is now reversed then Tyler will have to carry the S31 show instead for at least the first season.

Unless the PU Lorca is brought back to lead the S31 show, personally I really wouldnt mind at all.

I don't see how it could be somebody outside of the crew aboard Discovery, but...I really don't know what the state of the galaxy is.

Imagine if Section 31 still exists in the 31st century, again under the control of some surviving fragment of Control, all waiting to get their hands on Discovery's sphere data. And then the S31 show is set in that time period instead.

That would really give S3 a tragic feel, but there's no reason a backup copy of Control™ wasn't still hiding somewhere after that last battle.

Even if Control™ isn't the origin of the Borg™, it might have staged a hostile takeover of the Borg™ by the 31st century™.

Though, if Control™ had time travel ability, why not go back and get hold of the Sphere™ before Discovery™ found it?

Highly likely that they have taken the problem with them into the future.

It would be very stupid for Control not to have left a backup somewhere.

They really should have left the time travel and MU stuff for later seasons when it would have flowed better.

Dunno about that. What would have been the point of doing DSC until then? It would have been just another starship show. "Whee, it's pre-TOS!" So what? ENT was that already.

DSC now can be its own distinct thing, an anthology of sorts with each season violently jumping to new things, new eras and contexts and characters. We didn't need Lorca and the MU to change the mood of DSC: Lorca and the MU were the mood of the entire first season. To have the show locked on a specific mood for more than a single season would IMHO be a great loss.

For pity's sake, just let Cap'n Saru fly his flag from the Good Ship DISCO already! (Poor sentient has been putting in yeoman work for two whole seasons, give a Kelpian a break!).

We see some of the crew with new badges, guess we'll have to wait and see who their operating authority is in the 31st century. I'm still guessing it is Georgiou, at least for part of the third season.
