While mythological figures can't suddenly be discovered to have dark secrets in their pasts like real people, their stories can be seen/re-framed through the lens of modern sensibilities, or can be corrupted by media re-boots (certain movies/books about these figures may be remembered best and thereby tarnish the connotations of the name). Though I suppose the (still valid) virtues they were supposed to represent at the time are what count.
I would like to see more Bible names and places for ship names. Elijah, Abraham, Jerusalem, Ark, Commandments, etc.
I wonder if comic book characters/superheros/iconic characters from TV and movies will be considered worthy of starship names. So Superman, Frodo, Leia Organa, etc
