Which episode(s) would you de-canonise?

Up until the challenge, there was nothing "distasteful," so Spock must have been referring to ... what?
Maybe after a normal ceremony, the marriage is consummated right there in front of everybody. Though I can't imagine Kirk and McCoy being offended by that.

We never see the ending of T'Pol's wedding either.

"Fury". As much as I like seeing Jennifer Lien, and as little as I cared for Voyager as a series by this point, there's very little excuse for a show willfully turning its gentlest, most compassionate character into a crazed psychopath and re-writing its own entire history, all in service of yet another tedious time travel plot and the return of a villain that was criminally underused when they were actually part of the show.

That episode struck me as a slap in the face of Kes fans wanting to see her return-as in, they were saying "you wanted her back? Well, we'll ruin the character in the process!"

ENT: These Are The Voyages

It's hardly what a would describe as a valentine to the fans, the preceeding episodes gave us a much better finalé, and we didn't get to hear Archers speech

I had actually erased TATV from my memory, so my first thought reading the thread title was Dear Doctor. Actually, that's a good episode apart from the conclusion, and hardly the only example of head-slappingly bad thinking in ENT, or in Trek if it comes to that. I'm sure everyone can think of a moment in their favourite series where a bad decision was presented as the right one.
But yes, I would erase TATV from canon. Most ENT fans in fact make a point of saying that it's not a "legitimate" episode. It's not just a matter of characters making stupid decisions, or nonsensical plot developments. It's a bizarre misunderstanding of the whole show.

I don't see how Data's death in NEM matters much, as there was no TNG produced after anyway.

VOY - "Friendship One" because it pointlessly brought Joe Carey, not seen outside of flashbacks since season 1's "State of Flux", to kill him just a few months before Voyager returned home.

Also, it had the "United Earth Space Probe Agency" unmanned probe Friendship 1 launched in the year 2067 when Star Trek: First Contact had established the first public contact with extraterrestrials to be in 2063. While it's possible that the 22nd century United Earth state took naming inspiration from the notable space agency, I think it's a bit on the ridiculous side.

I don't understand the complaint here. Why couldn't UESPA have been a continuing agency over two centuries?

When was the last time you actually saw somebody stand up and object to the union?
Interesting question, so I looked it up. Some are funny, others are dead serious, but apparently it does happen from time to time.

One mother of the groom called the bride a whore and had to be carried out.

More Objection

:)

Yikes. Some of those are pretty horrific. I can't say I've ever attended a wedding with that much drama .. ...

My point is that "United Earth" is a misnomer because the world's governments haven't united within 4 years of first contact.

They wouldn't have had to have a united government in order to have a unified deep space program. Which would make sense, since they were still recovering from World War III and resources were probably scarce.

But, it seems "United Earth" was a concept that evolved quickly...

Encounter at Farpoint said:
DATA: If I may, Captain? Objection, your honour. In the year 2036, the new United Nations declared that no Earth citizen could be made to answer for the crimes of his race or forbears.
Q (JUDGE): Objection denied. This is a court of the year 2079, by which time more rapid progress had caused all United Earth nonsense to be abolished.

These Are The Voyages. From its ridiculous name to its incomprehensible plot to its rambling conclusion, it was bad. As a regular episode it would have been bad enough, as a series (and tv franchise) ender, it verged on insulting.

After just watching the Voyager episode "Threshold" I gotta say I would like all of that to be de-canoninzed.
It was quite off the wall:confused:
