In my mind, Tim Curry will always be Dr. Petrov from The Hunt for Red October.

- A Trek musical might not be the best thing ever

- This is Pike’s show, not Kirk’s; it’s not fair to Pike for Kirk to constantly turn up and push Pike out; and if they want so much Kirk he should get his own damn show already

- The Illyrians are, except for Una, arrogant assholes who think they’re the best thing ever just because they’re genetically engineered and think they should just waltz right into the Federation despite the law, which is not their place to question (either you abide by Federation law or you GTFO)

- I mean, seriously. Deliberately engineering themselves to breathe toxic air just to keep Federation visitors away? Talk about ego.

- Can’t really see Khan having kids although I admit I like La’an very much

- Canon is actually a GOOD thing, and SNW has done a remarkable job keeping to it

- Moving the Eugenics Wars is a ready-made excuse as to why things look more advanced than TOS

- They should have kept the DSC version of the bridge. Bring back the corridor!

Yes its Pikes show and it looks like it's nearly tos at this point. They just couldn't wait to get all the tis characters in. I want more pike. More Sam Kirk. I don't need to see more James t Kirk. Also scotty already. We got a new engineer this season and it looks like she'll be gone by the 3rd. Still a great show but l want Pike and his crew to be the focus.

Assuming this :censored:ing strike ever ends, I'm looking forward to seeing what SNW can do with Scotty. His early Starfleet career hasn't been explored at all. There's a lot of things they can do with that.

I don't mind seeing scotty as a guest star but I don't want him as chief engineer yet or serving on the enterprise. I really want more focus on Pike and the current crew. The actor portraying scotty did a great job ill admit. His accent was almost as authentic as Doohans. Well done. ;)

I want to see Dr Boyce again only I don't know if people find that idea to be popular, unpopular or indifferent.

I also want the show to break from canon and lead into a new universe even though we been thinking it was Prime. KInd of like what Superman and Lois did when it cut ties from the Arrowverse.

I want another musical next season

I want KIrk to die though that is somewhat connected to my idea of wanting it to be set in a new universe. That way Pike can stay Captain and maybe Una as well after him.

He can't be chief anything because he's only a Lt JG at this point - according to the words out of his own mouth. I wish they made it more clear that Uhura is a communications officer who works alpha shift sometimes. Not the only one (or head of the department like I pretended she was in TOS). She's only a 22 y/o ensign.

- SNW is a separate timeline, caused by the events of FC and the Temporal Wars, and continuing where DIS and ENT left off. And it needs to be accepted.

- The Spock-T’Pring-Chapel love triangle should not just be messy. It should be a trainwreck. With T’Pring-Stonn, Chapel-Korby and a possible female interest for Chapel, and Spock-Lelila Kalomi and possibly a member of the crew (anyone - La’an, Uhura, Ortegas, Jenna, maybe even a flashback to Nhan).

- There should be a resumption of the Klingon War as a season-long arc. And it should be a major event like the Snap in the Avenger movies, in that it gets rid of a lot of the DIS legacy characters, but also ushers in the world of TOS.

- The show, while it is exploring strange new worlds in new ways (ex. the musical episode), is also getting away from seeking out new life and new civilizations

- Bringing in legacy characters is a good thing. But they rely on the mainstream TOS legacy characters too much.

- I find myself caring about Erica Ortegas less and Jenna Mitchell more, despite them having the same level of development. Although S2E8 did wonders for Ortegas’ character, S2E4 was a let down.

- There aren’t enough throuples in SNW

- It would be nice to see someone wearing the miniskirt or skant without them also wearing pants.

Who the fuck is left from Discovery? Ash Tyler and L'Rell? Pretty much everyone else is either dead, gone to the future, or has "TOS Plot Armour."

Star Trek is rarely as progressive as it thinks it is when it comes to sex.

I thought having the non-binary character dating the trans character and being adopted by the gay couple to be far too 21st century. Should have had the trans or non-binary character dating a heterosexual character with no one batting an eyelid.
Dax was a huge wasted opportunity. That woman had great potential as a polyamorous character.
It'll be a long time before we get a Trek version of the Connaught.

^ I always thought of the show as simply a visual re-imagining. But with the changes to the timeline thanks to the Romulans, you could say that the 23rd century got updated as a result. Now you have an in-story reason for why the show doesn't look like TOS.

Maybe that can be my unpopular opinion. :o

I think that's actually a popular opinion with many. I share it as well!

I thought that's what we were getting with Angel and Sybock. No one batted an eyelid over relationships or pronouns.
