What's Your Favorite Song of the Day?

Well, I've been listening to a lot of Freidrich Nietzsche lately. I rather like his compositions; maybe if he wasn't Nietzsche I wouldn't own them but they're not bad. Also, heard Henryk Gorecki's Symphony of Sorrowful Songs on Friday night, very impressive piece.

Just listened to it on YouTube (what a cheap way to listen to something so beautiful like that – but I just had to know what you are talking about). I like the title Sorrowful Songs and am amazed at the similarity to some electronic ambient-style music I'm listening to. (You don't happen to know Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works Volume II, don't you?)

However, today it's Squarepusher's I Wish You Could Talk for me.

I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with them. But if memory serves, Gorecki was a student of Oliver Messiaen; so the similarity doesn't surprise me.

Through the Fire and Flames by DragonForce. Those who play Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock know why ;)

On a classical music binge, and today's best was Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante in E flat, K 364 for Violin, as played by Anne-Sophie Mutter.

Big fan of hers. And of course, a big fan of Mozart's.

Plus, I love to work to Mozart - I really believe it's true that listening to Mozart makes you more productive.

Lately when I've been in the mood for classical I've been listening to Idil Biret's Complete Chopin Piano Music.

Today I've been listening to Howard Shore's Complete Lord of the Rings albums.

Just heard an exceptional rendition of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E Minor. :)

'Spirit of Radio' by Rush. One of the old faves I listen to every once in a while.... ;)

I've been on a Frank Sinatra bender for a few days now. The Best is Yet to Come is fave song of the day! Has it been ten years already since he's passed? :( Can't believe it.

Currently listening to a Japanese rock band called Hyde, the song is "Season's Call".

Video is here for those interested.
