What's Your Favorite Song of the Day?

Then check this out. ;)
Yeah, I've seen that once. That's really well made. Also, a very good song. :bolian:

My command of the German language is not what it once was. Do they ever sing in English?
I wasn't sure myself, so I looked it up on Wikipedia:

Nearly all of Rammstein's songs are in German. However, the band did record English versions of Engel ("Angel"), Du hast ("You have", which is most commonly confused with "You hate", since hast and hasst sound phonetically identical), and Amerika, as well as covers of the songs Stripped (Depeche Mode) and Pet Sematary (The Ramones). In addition, the songs Amerika, Stirb nicht vor mir/Don't die before I do and Moskau ("Moscow") contain not only German verses, but also English and Russian choruses, respectively; Te quiero puta! ("I want you, whore!") is entirely in Spanish. Oliver Riedel commented that, "German language suits heavy metal music. French might be the language of love, but German is the language of anger".

However, I think the appeal of many of the lyrics gets lost with a translation as they rely heavily on wordplay.

Battle Song by Ensiferum

Good viking metal song. I usually don't like screaming songs as I can't understand them but this one had good music to back it up.

^ Yeah, the Thin White Duke rules! :bolian:

Today it's Xiu Xiu with "Pox" for me. Everyone should take a look at the wonderful video.

Interesting...I once read an interview with the Scorpions (who are also German of course) where they said that heavy metal and the German language *didn't* go together - all you get is 'grrrrrch!'. (I don't know if the Scorpions ever sang in German. Probably not.)

No, I don't think they sing in German. But it's true what they say. Making German sound good in a song isn't that easy. I know that from my own experience with songwriting (even my own band only sings English texts). But there's actually a new generation of German musicians (like Wir Sind Helden, Rammstein or MIA.) who have found an interesting way to write and sing German texts.

Francis Dunnery's, "Good Life."

Here's a video using the song and clips from Scrubs, which is appropriate, since I found this song on their soundtrack.
