What's Your Favorite Song of the Day?

^It's so strange for me because I've always liked Indiana Jones, but it's never been that big of a deal. Entertaining, but I have no problems flipping by it on the TV, so the fact that it's getting stuck in my head and that I'm excited for it is unusual!

Oh, and to stay on topic, my song of the day is Big & Rich's I Pray For You. Big Kenny and John Rich have each done solo renditions of it, but the pair doing it together is my favorite.

Does that make me a bad atheist? ;)

"Shoots and Ladders" by Korn, especially the bagpipe intro. Awesome :D
Great song! :bolian:
Why thank you, sir!
In keeping with the Korn mood, I'm listening to "Right Now" by the same band atm. What can I say, I feel like listening to nu-metal at the moment

Here's a random factoid for you TrekBBSers: Jon Davis, Korn's frontman and lead vocalist, is a good friend of Richard Gibbs, who scored the Battlestar Galactica Miniseries. I don't know about you guys, but stuff like this really makes me feel like it's a small world after all.

So my latest song has a wee bit of a story behind it. Four years ago, when Big & Rich first came to Cheyenne (sorry those who hate them, but they're back for another day!!), they played several songs that weren't on a CD at the time, and some still aren't. There was one song that I couldn't remember, but I really liked. All that I could recall from it was "disco ball" and "center of the universe". Well, after four years, I have finally found the song. May I present Big & Rich's "Disco Ball"! :D

Today I can't get enough of Aphex Twin's "Rhubarb".

This is one to play when you are having a tough time going to sleep.

Very relaxing. Definitely 'night music', IMO. I've been trying to follow as many of the links as I could in this thread, and this is by far the most relaxing offering that I've listened to so far.

Well, that was pretty...erm....surreal.

Nah...seriously. I'd never heard of these guys before your post upstream. I guess they run in Country/Western circles or something? Anyway, the "I Pray for You" song was okay...although I tend to like heavier rock (not metal, but heavier rock) as a rule. I think it's a good song for those who are into pop/lite country/western.

Anyway, I tried something new. :D

Yeah, they're officially Country singers, but they're less mainstream, and many of the "traditionalists" want them out. However, the duo is always talking about how they want to make music that can reach out to everyone, not just a certain sect or genre of people. As their motto says, "Country music without prejudice." I just think they're a fun pair; their "play" songs are great, but when they get serious, they are absolutely brilliant.

Well, I don't have any great love for 'traditionalist' c/w circles - I mean, these were the fans who burned Dixie Chicks records and sent them death threats for speaking their mind about the President.

So I give less than 2 hoots what traditionalist c/w fans think.

But yeah...I can see how these guys are trying to bridge the gap between c/w and mainstream pop. I couldn't decide which they were, in fact, until I saw the western shirts and cowboy hats in some photos in that video.

This is not generally my type of music, but I thought they were good for the sort of music they play. That first song above in particular is kinda catchy. :)

"You're Gone" by Marillion is up near the top of the favourites list at the moment.

Heh, there's a set of nested quotes which had me doing a double-take.

And another one: I saw the name Richard Gibbs, but the first thing I thought of was not the BSG miniseries, but of Gibbs' old band Oingo Boingo, in which he played keyboards. One of my favorite tunes of theirs, "Nothing to Fear", coincidentally bears a striking similarity (in title, at least) to the new Trek XI Forum motto.
