What's the worst canon decision in the history of Trek?

In addition to the original 17 or so days of them being in stasis while The Doctor was working on a treatment. 6 weeks after leaving that world, 6 going back, plus about 3 weeks in orbit? They really lost almost 4 months.

Which brings me to one thing that always bugged me about this episode, as well as "CODA"...

The captain AND the XO on a mission away from the ship??? If this were TOS, TNG, or DS9, if something happened to them both, they could get replacement command officers because Starfleet was nearby. Not an ideal situation, but at least it is a problem that can be solved. But alone in an unknown quadrant? This was a bad decision, in every respect.

Agreed, I saw 9.975 (5000c) as something like 137 on your Civic. It'll hit that speed, but you sustain it for more than a couple minutes, your engine blows (or your warp core breaches). But on a nice flat highway in Montana or Wyoming, you should be able to bring her up to 85 and rumble along contentedly for hours on end.

Reducing Voyager's speed by about the same margin (I can't divide 85 by 137 in my head), you get maybe 3100c. Even a freeway speed of 62 (100 kph) translates to 2250c or warp 9.73, or about a 31-year journey.

The stated 1000c, or warp 8, translates to toodling along in your Honda at a Vespa-ish 27 mph. Are there a bunch of residential neighborhoods between the Ocampa homeworld and the Alpha Quadrant?

Anyone else noticed that the Ocampa are doomed at any rate? I mean the caretaker gave them some food and energy reserves before he died but they don't have the means to renew these reserves once they're gone.

If they're only having one child apiece, their population will halve every four-year generation. As their population shrinks, they can allocate power, shut down nonessential areas and systems, and discard broken equipment instead of repairing or replacing it. With any luck, the Ocampa will be adequately provided for until their inevitable extinction.

"the worst canon decision in the history of Trek?"

Explaining the Klingon foreheads.

I liked those episodes, but they were completely unnecessary.

It's funny that in Season 4 the Klingons (or bounty hunters for that matter) made no further attempts to capture Archer. I guess the death of Duras settled matters somehow...

I agree, except I didn't even like those episodes.

Worf already gave the perfect non-explanation. Why would you mess with that.

I appreciate the effort though plus they linked that to the augments which isn't bad. I think it's really in character that the Klingons would try to create Klingon augments after the humiliation of an entire Klingon ship being defeated by two captured unarmed humans.

The Klingons in Enterprise never made much sense to me. It felt very much forced, like "This is Star Trek so there must be Klingons!" and then someone saw a picture of a TOS Klingon and went "Oh, yea! We should explain that." It struck me as a solution in search of a problem and a poorly executed one at that.

Well, the Klingon look changes continuously throughout the franchise with the latest edition the discovery Klingons which are like nothing I have ever seen.
