What would you like to see in the finale episode of Season 5?

First I want to see a WNMHGB bridge and that Enterprise. Want to see Scott Mitchell Piper Sulu Kelso Alden. M'Benga Otegas Chapel gone, along with La'an.
Would be nice to see Nogura at the change of command ceremony. More likely April.

It's pretty well established that people switch divisions and wear different colours sometimes, so it wasn't a costume error in TOS.
They changed their mind about what color looked best on Nichelle Nichols. The brought Takei back for the series. Not sure if he was even playing Sulu in WNMHGB. Some actors (like Eddie Paskey) bounced from division to division depending on the needs of the script. Sometimes playinging different characters. I doubt Leslie woke in the morning and decided, "I think I'll be a med tech today." We shouldn't conflate production needs with fan rationalizations.

Absolutely. But Spock laughing in The Cage was also them not knowing was also down to production not having established the rules of Vulcans. But if it weren't for that then SNW wouldn't exist at all.

There is a storyline that could be had with Uhura and Sulu in this regard. Uhura being pushed to go further taking on command responsibilities but realising it really isn't for her and she wants to thrive in her niche. Sulu as a science officer but with a love of piloting and learning to embrace what he loves and not do what is expected of him by others.

Sure you could. But that's the sort of navel gazing best left to books and fanfic.

There's going to be a Season 5? I could have sworn I'd heard that they were going to terminate SNW with a shortened Season 4. Did I hear wrong? Did something change?

And don't get me wrong. If I had my druthers, SNW would run for the same total number of episodes as TNG, DS9, and VOY. And I like the quirky, atypical episodes. I liked "Subspace Rhapsody," "Those Old Scientists," and "What Is Starfleet?". And I really like the fact that it's more episode-centric than arc-centric (if I want an arc-centric series, I'll watch B5; it does that sort of thing much better than ST does.

Less gimmicks. More straightforward Star Trek storytelling. I know we have at least one gimmick episode with the puppet episode, but I would just like to see less of them. So many episodes of this show feel like they could have "Friends" titles -- The one where we do Alien, The one where we do Omalas, The one where we cross over with the cartoon, The one with the musical, The one with Q, The one with the holodeck, The one with the documentary...
the one with puppets

Wow, you actually have clairvoyance and can see the final edited cut of the episode in your mind months in advance?

Can you give me stock market tips, too?
I don't have to see the final cut, I just have to foresee the bit where they lose me 2 minutes in, and leave me pissed off for the rest of it.

Do you not worry that there's a chance this will happen entirely because you have decided it will happen in advance? Being convinced you (royal you) will dislike something leads to it being disliked just to justify the assumption. It will always colour and invalidate an opinion if it is made in advance.

The only thing I needed to know was 'does it have a good explanation'. Now that I know it doesn't, or at least that's what they've heavily implied, I know myself well enough to know that it can't possibly redeem itself for me.

It's like if they made a James Bond movie where Bond gets the ability to transform into a cat to sneak into enemy lairs. I don't have to see that movie to know I would hate it.
