What would you like to see in the 2010 SOTL Calendar?

I also read once that the original plan for the Romulan D'deridex ship design was Vertical. If you have that, I'd love to see it.
I think I can help on that one... here-

Andrew-

Now that is just plain sweet. I would love to see a model of that one.

I want to see a Starfleet ship done vertically.

You know, like the mothership from the Homeworld computer game.

^ You ought to see the Chariot class, designed by Atolm and 3D modeled by Howard Day. Beautiful ship! Wish I could find one of the renders. Hopefully I have some on my home computer.
Really? Cool! I've always wanted to see what a Vertical Starfleet ship might look like (I also read once that the original plan for the Romulan D'deridex ship design was Vertical). If you have that, I'd love to see it.
this is all I could find
everything (all of SFM's hosted content) was lost in SFM's Great Crash of '06 and there are still many things that haven't been re-posted http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/general-requests/23079-need-help-identify-starfleet-ship.html

Yeah, I'd found that one, but that doesn't really show the model off very well. The beauty renders really make it look good, and I can't find those!

yeah I know
I remember Howie did a really nice slow flyby . . . watched that thing for what seemed like hours
unbelievably awesome that ship was :D

I remember seeing the drawings of that baby when TNG first started airing, and have long been sorry that it never got built much less used on-air.

I suppose some fan-film team or other will want to remedy this sooner than later...

It seems I'm not allowed to view those images. :(

I thought I had saved more, but this was the only one I managed to find:

And here's the orthos from scifi-meshes:

Absolutely beautiful!

But there seems to be yet another design there in that little sketch in the corner. The crew module (for lack of the correct term) is vertical in that one, and the nacelles are at right angles to the ones in the larger drawing. Is there a more detailed drawing of that idea?

Probert, quick question regarding your PT Boat artwork from the 09 calendar. On the right hand side we see a shuttle parked half out of frame. Having worked on cruise ships for a number of years, that shuttle front end is the spitting image for the passenger tenders used to get people ashore when there is no dock facilities large enough for the ship. Was the design inspired by a cruise you took? or just happy coincidence?

Yes.

But this thread is going all over the place. Nevertheless,... here you go:

Just a coincidence, really. I don't know how those 'tenders' open, but on my shuttle, the top section slides into an overhead pocket... similar to a car's sun roof. The bottom obviously lowers, containing illuminated non-skid strips.

Y'know, flip that on its side and that's a pretty nifty design, too....
