This board is too stubborn to ever disappear.I left for 8 or 10 years simply because I couldn't afford to have internet and I was shocked to see that the board still existed when I came back. Everyone can be replaced!

I came back after a 6 year absense to reread Warped9's tng reviews after i bought the blurays. This is still a great place to talk Trek.I left for 8 or 10 years simply because I couldn't afford to have internet and I was shocked to see that the board still existed when I came back. Even if Jar Jar Binks, Wicket the Ewok and Boxey show up, I'd still probably give it a go. If it just sucks and is boring I'll turn it half way through the first episode and forget about it.
What strikes me as odd in these kind of discussions on this board, is how persecuted and entitled conservative people always seem to feel; thinking they are in their moral right to spread radical right-wing ideas.
That's not what he said. What's wrong with being conservative..
I don't know, an episode like Threshold being the first episode would definitely turn me off. Granted, every Star Trek series often has some real clunkers in the first season, so I guess that wouldn't necessarily put me off entirely, regarding the rest of the show, but it would have to work harder to get me to stay.An episode like Voyager's Threshold wouldn't be a dealbreaker, that's just a stupid episode.
An episode like Enterprise's Dear Doctor would be a dealbreaker, that's just an offensive episode.
I don't work like that.I wouldn't watch just the first episode, watch several. Different writers and directors.
Every star trek series has had its bad episodes, I wouldn't judge an entire series just from one.
The problem is not being conservative; it's in the views expressed by the equivalent to America's alt-right. (Insert Ctrl+Alt+Delete joke here.)What's wrong with being conservative..
Free speech ends when it violates the rights of others.
How do you ever get through any TV series then?I don't work like that.
A good example is hate speech, or threats against another person. Or trolling. And that would be...?

Depends on what you want to conserve.....What's wrong with being conservative..
Well, there's trolling and there's textual-assualt-trolling (what other word is there?) that goes on some of the nastier parts of the internet, but that's slightly short of verbal abuse,Specific threats would certainly be the go-to example. Should be actionable.
Trolling? Meh.
