He's one of my favourites, too. But if I turn on and tune in and see him talking to a Klingorc, hairy or otherwise, it would break my heart.

Once the first time. Every other time, the audience and the characters assume that is the reason Q looks old. Whenever he chooses human form of course.
Suppose it could work although you could see the age creeping up on DeLancie during VOY and there was no real reason for that!

If I were them, I would CG de-age him to 1990's deLancie when he appears, have him say "Oh, we're ageing now?" and make himself older. Just how he keeps up with uniform changes.
Not sure where this new Picard show will go but I sincerely hope they touch upon his Borg-induced PTSD. I want to watch this new show and remember 'Family', and have that be a thread through it. Not saying I want to see the Borg again, I just want this to be a part of it.
Q is a must have in a Picard show, right?

And in one apartment is a buxom female Klingon twenty-something and a metro-sexual ferrengi who solves crime as private investigators.
